England Women have won the toss and have opted to field
Talking about England, they are usually a force to reckon with in their home conditions. England whitewashed West Indies 3-0 in their last T20I assignment and will be eyeing to keep their form intact. Sophie Ecclestone returns to the side after recovering from a quad issue while Heather Knight has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury. Their skipper, Nat Sciver-Brunt has led from the front for England and her contributions with both bat and ball can play a pivotal role once again. These two sides last faced each other in the T20I format in 2023 in India with England clinching the series 2-1. It should be a cracking contest! Stick around as toss and team lineups will be announced shortly...
13:30 Local Time, 12:30 GMT, 18:00 IST: India Women gear up to face England Women in Nottingham in the first game of the series as they begin their tour for the 5-match T20I series and it will then be followed by 3 ODIs. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be held next year in England itself and this series will serve as an ideal preparation ground for India. India do possess a strong batting lineup but there’s dearth of experience when it comes to their bowling. Renuka Thakur and Pooja Vastrakar miss out do to injuries. There are a few fresh faces in their camp as pace bowling-allrounders Sayali Satghare and Kranti Goud and left-arm spinner Shree Charani have received their maiden T20I call-ups. The big headline is that Sneh Rana makes a return to the T20Is after more than two years, thanks to her strong showing in WPL 2025.
