'Boom Boom'
Snapshots: Boom Boom, Dhoni Dhoni and a More impersonation

What first comes to you're mind when you hear the term 'Boom Boom'? Especially if you're a cricket fan? Shahid Afridi, of course, would be the first name that comes up, because of his inclination towards hitting big sixes. But a bowler got those cheers when Mumbai were bowling in the Qualifier 1 game against Pune. 'Boom boom', said the announcer and immediately the crowd shot back with the name of Bumrah, who was introduced into the attack. He didn't get a wicket in his first over, keeping things mostly quiet. But his skills to keep it economical - even if it doesn't interest the fans of slam-bang action - garnered attention of the Mumbai fans, who kept the 'boom boom' chants going. Even when he was being hammered by Dhoni in the final over of the innings.
Contrasting Pandyas
When Krunal Pandya was brought on to bowl the eighth over, he ensured that Mumbai continued keeping Pune on a tight leash, bowling a very tight over. With two dot balls to Rahane and three to Manoj Tiwary, along with a Ravindra Jadeja-like approach in quickly going through his over, Krunal wasn't giving the batsmen any breathing space, conceding only one of his opening over. His younger brother Hardik, however, did not have a similar start when he was introduced in the next over. Rahane welcomed him into the attack with a supremely-timed and stylish six over long-off, showing the full face of the bat. Three singles followed before Rahane inside-edged one to the fine-leg boundary and ended with a couple of the last ball of the over that yielded 15 runs. Krunal followed it up with another tight over, but the Pandyas act in conjunction ended there as they did not get to bowl in tandem for the rest of the innings with Hardik not getting to bowl again.
Parthiv does a Kiran More
In the 1992 World Cup, people wouldn't have forgotten the leap that Javed Miandad did, impersonating India wicketkeeper Kiran More who was getting under his skin with his vociferous appeals. Something similar happened at Wankhede. Ajinkya Rahane had just crossed his half-century and was threatening to do more damage, when Karn Sharma was reintroduced. After the batsman started with three couples, Karn had the better of Rahane by foxing him with a googly. The ball had rapped him on the pads and MI went up in unison in appeal of a leg-before decision. The umpire took a while to give his decision, which prompted Parthiv Patel leap a couple of times while appealing, akin to what More, the current MI keeping mentor, had done more than two decades back.
'Dhoni.. Dhoni'
Dhoni, sixes and Wankhede all have a connection and none better than his
