Bavuma is unlucky there but he will also blame himself for attempting a needless quick single! Sri Lanka strike immediately after lunch. The batsman drove one to mid off and set off for a quick single, the bat went past the line by the time the fielder hits the stumps but unfortunately it had popped up at the same time. De Kock is the new man in. South Africa need to be a little careful now.
Live Cricket Score of South Africa vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Day 3

Sri Lanka were completely battered on the second day and the contest already looks out of their reach with three more days to go. Their openers yet again started off pretty well against the new ball and were looking solid for the first fifteen overs after Quinton de Kock and the lower order helped South Africa post 392 on the board.
But with Kaushal Silva and Kusal Mendis falling just before Tea, Sri Lanka suddenly found themselves under the pump. The final session got messier with Kagiso Rabada and Vernon Philander running riot to demolish them for just 110. With a lead of 282, Faf du Plessis decided to give his bowlers some rest and hence bat again. Dean Elgar and Stephen Cook negotiated the last few overs to add 35, hence taking the lead past 300. And today, they will be looking to pile on the runs. Will Hashim Amla finally find some form? How much will the hosts want? They were given a mild scare in the previous Test when they set Sri Lanka a target of 488. So South Africa might want at least 550 to completely put the target beyond Sri Lanka's reach. Bright start this is for South Africa! While Elgar has hit a couple of boundaries, Stephen Cook clips one and runs four, that's a rare occasion indeed in the modern day game. The partnership goes past 50. Sri Lanka need a wicket to rejuvenate themselves.
Cook fails to make use of an excellent opportunity to post another big score. Lakmal bowls one on a good length outside off and takes Cook's outside edge. The catch is safely pouched by Karunaratne at first slip. Hashim Amla walks out to bat. He won't be getting a better chance than this one to break this rare run of poor scores.
Amla's poor run continues! An ideal opportunity goes begging. Credit to Lakmal though, that was a beautiful delivery just outside the off stump, it takes the outside edge yet again and the wicketkeeper makes no mistake. JP Duminy joins Elgar out in the middle.
