David Warner piled on his excellent run in One-Day Internationals this year scoring his second hundred in two one-dayers against New Zealand. Australia posted 264 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on the back of Warner's stupendous 156.

The records Warner broke during his marathon innings:

7 - Centuries for Warner in 23 ODIs in 2016. The last to score seven hundreds in a year in ODIs was Sourav Ganguly in 2000. The only player to score more in a calendar year is Sachin Tendulkar who scored nine in 1998.

Most ODI hundreds in a calendar year

4 - Scores of 150 or more for Warner in ODIs - joint second-most for any player with Sanath Jayasuriya, Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma. Tendulkar has the most such scores in ODIs - five.

6 - 150-plus scored for Warner in List A cricket - joint-most for any player along with Gordon Greenidge. Two such scores came for New South Wales and four for Australia.

156 by Warner is the fourth-highest individual score in ODIs at the MCG. The players with higher scores are Mark Waugh (173), Shane Watson (161*) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (161*).

59.09 - Percentage of runs scored by Warner in Australia's total of 264. The only higher percentage contribution for Australia in a completed ODI innings is 60.73 by Damien Martyn
