New Zealand is set to take on Australia in the first One-Day International (ODI) of the Chappell-Hadlee series at the Eden Park in Auckland on Wednesday (February 3). It is the first of the three match series, which will also mark the end of Brendon McCullum's ODI career.

New Zealand (Playing XI): Martin Guptill, Brendon McCullum(c), Kane Williamson, Henry Nicholls, Grant Elliott, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi(w), Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Matt Henry, Trent Boult

Australia (Playing XI): David Warner, Shaun Marsh, Steven Smith(c), George Bailey, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh, Matthew Wade(w), James Faulkner, John Hastings, Kane Richardson, Josh Hazlewood

New Zealand new ball bowlers - Trent Boult and Matt Henry have ripped the Australian top order, reducing them to 41 for six in nine overs. David Warner, George Bailey, Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell have returned to the pavilion.

Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill got New Zealand off to a blazing start after Australia won the toss and put New Zealand to bat. The opening pair put on 79 runs for the first wicket, before the skipper perished, bowled by James Faulkner

Kane Williamson, New Zealand's most consistent batsman fell for a duck soon after the departure of skipper Brendon McCullum. A good length delivery stopped on him as he looked to play on the up, giving an easy catch to Shaun Marsh at short cover

A fine innings by Martin Guptill, who is going through his best phase, comes to an end courtesy a brilliant direct throw by Glenn Maxwell to run him out. He fell 10 short of a deserving century.

Yet another partnership that seemed threatening comes to an end as Grant Elliot is dismissed. The New Zealand all-rounder mistimes the ball off Mitchell Marsh and gives an easy catch to John Hastings at mid off

Australia have clawed their way back with twin strikes of Henry Nicholls and Corey Anderson. The run rate has dropped from nearly seven an over to less than six.
