India dominated day one of the second Test against South Africa played at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore with ease. After opting to bowl, the spinners - R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, who picked up four wickets apiece - did extremely well to restrict South Africa to 214. However, they couldn't stop the phenom from shouldering the weight of the team once again. AB de Villiers, in what was his 100th Test match, robustly carried on while wickets tumbled at the other end far too regularly, eventually falling 15 short of a century.

The Indian openers in response, got off to a great start. Barring one chance that Murali Vijay offered - one that was spilled by Imran Tahir at square leg - their innings' were flawless. The duo marched on and ensured they ended the day unscathed on 80 for 0. South Africa are evidently missing their frontline bowlers in Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander, but can Kyle Abbott and Morne Morkel stand tall and deliver to halt the Indian attack? Day two has loads in store. And with looming rain, it is bound to add drama.
