Both South Africa and New Zealand are evenly matched. The series is currently levelled and both teams have anequal chance of dominating the final ODI and clinching it. South Africa have to make sure they put up a complete performance instead of doing well in patches. They also need to pay special attention to their fielding, which has been quite poor by their standards.

New Zealand, on the other hand, have little problems to address. Their batting has been largely carried by the top-order, which has been in terrific form. Their only concern will be if the top-order fails and the middle order, which has had very little to do in recent times is put to test. Their bowling has been disciplined and if they continue with it, they have a good chance of sealing the series, denying South Africa the chance to usurp their number three spot in the ICC ODI team rankings.

South Africa skipper AB de Villiers won the toss and chose to bat first. The Proteas have made two changes to the side, with Kagiso Rabada and Kyle Abbott coming in for Aaron Phangiso and Vernon Philander. New Zealand, on the other hand, are unchanged.

Teams:

New Zealand (Playing XI): Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Kane Williamson(c), George Worker, Grant Elliott, Colin Munro, Luke Ronchi(w), Adam Milne, Doug Bracewell, Ish Sodhi, Ben Wheeler

South Africa (Playing XI): Hashim Amla, Morne van Wyk(w), Rilee Rossouw, AB de Villiers(c), David Miller, Farhaan Behardien, David Wiese, Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir, Kyle Abbott

South Africa began with a couple of watchful overs but then picked up speed. Morne van Wyk, who had failed in the first two matches, looked more focussed today. Hashim Amla was in good touch as ever. Both openers played some fantastic shots and kept the scorecard ticking. Overall, they did not give the New Zealand bowlers any opportunity to edge ahead.
