Three Bangladesh Cricket Board directors - Saniyan Taneem, Mehrab Alam and Faiazur Rahman - resigned from their posts on Saturday (April 4), a BCB official confirmed the development to Cricbuzz.

The trio's resignation comes just two days after Yasir Mohammed Faysal Ashique stepped down, triggering speculation over growing unrest within the boardroom. The back-to-back departures have now taken the total number of resignations in the current BCB board to six.

Earlier, Amzad Hussain resigned, citing personal reasons, after being removed as chairman of the Media Committee, while Ishtiaque Sadeeque, who headed the Game Development Committee, also stepped down on similar grounds.

A BCB-formed investigation committee is expected to submit its report before the April 9 deadline, following which the government will decide its next course of action.

Cricbuzz understands that an ad hoc committee is already being prepared in the event the government decides to dissolve the board, with a former captain likely to head the interim setup, which is expected to comprise 11 members.

Meanwhile, BCB officials said on Saturday that they are looking to revive their relationship with the Board of Control for Cricket in India through exchange programmes.

Relations between the BCB and BCCI hit a low after Bangladesh decided to skip the T20 World Cup citing security concerns. The situation escalated after the BCCI instructed Kolkata Knight Riders to exclude Mustafizur Rahman from their squad following his selection for the ongoing Indian Premier League, a move that eventually led the ICC to replace Bangladesh with Scotland for the global event.

Bangladesh's women's tour of India was also cancelled, while there remains uncertainty over whether India will travel to Bangladesh for the rescheduled white-ball tour - comprising three ODIs and three T20Is - in September, which had earlier been called off.

The BCB recently sent a letter to the BCCI as part of efforts to repair cricketing ties, and BCB cricket operations chairman Nazmul Abedin said on Saturday that they are hoping for a response soon.

"India is scheduled to come to Bangladesh in September and that's all. The Bangladesh women's team was supposed to go to India which was cancelled. The idea was to schedule the women's tour as well. That was the main content of the letter that was sent to the BCCI besides discussion about further engagements, whether we can have further engagements with India and about other reciprocal events," Nazmul told reporters on Saturday.

"I would say this was a regular correspondence that we do with all other cricketing nations and (I'm) expecting a reply, and hopefully we will get a reply from them soon, and depending on that (I'll) make further communications with BCCI," he said.

While Nazmul insisted they are hopeful of reviving ties, it appears increasingly unlikely that the current administration will remain in place for long, with the board facing the prospect of dissolution within the week.
