T20 World Cup tickets start at INR 100 as ICC opens sales for 2026 edition

Tickets for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 will start at just INR 100 in India and LKR 1000 in Sri Lanka, with the ICC aiming to make the tournament more accessible to fans. More than two million tickets will be released in the first phase of sales.

One standout detail for fans is that India v Pakistan tickets will be available from only INR 438.

"It was a conscious decision to incentivize the access not only to non-India games but also the biggest game after knockouts. We see many Indian and Pakistani fans will be travelling for the match and we have tried to make the access affordable," Sanjog Gupta, ICC CEO, told Cricbuzz.

"Our vision for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is clear: every fan, regardless of background, geography or financial means, should have the chance to access an in-stadia experience of world-class marquee cricket," Sanjog further said in an ICC media release.

"... We are putting affordability at the centre of our strategy. This is about opening the gates wide and inviting millions to be part of a global celebration of cricket, not as spectators from afar, but as active participants in the energy, emotion and magic that only a stadium can offer."

The event will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka and will feature 55 matches across eight venues. The tournament begins with Pakistan playing the Netherlands in Colombo, followed by West Indies v Bangladesh in Kolkata and India v USA in Mumbai.

Stewart returns to full time role as Surrey director of cricket

Alec Stewart has returned to his full-time role as Surrey's Director of Men's Cricket, the club confirmed on Monday (December 8). Stewart was working in a reduced capacity since the end of 2024, taking on the role of Men's High Performance Advisor while caring for his wife during her prolonged battle with cancer.

Announcing his return, Stewart said: "Surrey has always been my home and I am now ready to return to full time duties with the Club again. My priorities have always been to support the cricket management team and the squad to be the best county in the country, to bring cricketers into our professional squad through our pathway system and help players to fulfil their dreams of representing their country."

Surrey chair Oli Slipper welcomed the news: "Alec is a legend of Surrey and we are looking forward to having him back in his role as Director of Men's Cricket. Alec's record speaks for itself and he's been the driving force in so much of the Club's success over many, many years."
