The West Indies team will hold a six-day camp in Ahmedabad ahead of the two-Test series against India. According to information shared with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) by Cricket West Indies (CWI), the visitors will train in Ahmedabad from September 24 to 29, before beginning their final preparations for the opening Test. The first Test is scheduled to start on October 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
West Indies to hold a six-day camp in Ahmedabad ahead of Test series

"We have a team that we expect to perform well, in particular a quite exciting fast bowling attack. We are there from September 24 through to the first Test," CWI CEO Christ Dehring told Cricbuzz on Saturday.
The recently announced squad features two specialist spinners - vice-captain Jomel Warrican and uncapped Khary Pierre, both left-armers. In addition, skipper Roston Chase provides part-time off-spin. Pace, however, remains the West Indies' primary strength, with Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, and Anderson Phillips expected to lead the attack, even on pitches that are likely to assist spin.
The Indian team, meanwhile, will assemble in Ahmedabad on September 29. Some players, including skipper Shubman Gill, are expected to arrive directly from Dubai - assuming India makes the Asia Cup final - while others will travel from the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, where they would be training. The national selectors are expected to announce the squad early next week.
The current selection committee will pick the Test squad, marking the last meeting for a couple of its members. Following the recent round of interviews, two selectors are set to join the panel while two will make way. It is understood that Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh are the incoming members, with S Sharath likely to be among those stepping down from the Ajit Agarkar-led committee. The second member who will exit the panel is not clear.
Sharath, it is learned, will return to the junior selection committee and is set to replace Tilak Naidu as its head. The recent interviews conducted by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), comprising Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjpe, have led to the appointment of two senior selectors, one junior selector, and four selectors for the national women's committee.
