Siraj thrives in the blaze of the wobble ball

It was the last edition of IPL when Mohammed Siraj once again felt the need to move the ball back into the right-handers. With only outswing left in his arsenal, he was getting predictable with his bowling and that reflected in how he endured his worst season in terms of economy and average, and even took home the unwanted record of conceding the most number of sixes in a season.

Fast forward to 2023 and it feels like an entirely different time in Siraj's career. He is almost single-handedly responsible for India's resurgence with the ball in the PowerPlay overs, picking wickets with the new ball match after match. A lot of it is down to his refurbished confidence and his fine-tuning of the wobble ball. The delivery once again formed the basis of his figures of 4 for 32 in the third ODI against Sri Lanka.
