The IPL captains have been hoping that the coin would fall their way at the toss across venues, more so at the Brabourne. The general impression among the teams is that it is an extremely tricky ground. Small boundaries, good batting strip and the dew element have been compelling the skippers to opt for chasing after winning the toss. The pattern of the games have been largely going on the expected lines although not all teams have won batting second, necessarily, here.

What has remained constant at the ground is that the pitches there have been witnessing high-scoring games. Before Wednesday, 177/5, 210/7, 180/8, 189/9, 215/5, 175/8, 199/4, 217/5 have been the scores recorded batting first. Four of those totals were overhauled and the sixes, the touchstone of T20 form of cricket, have been coming in boatloads.
