When Gujarat Titans offered Shubman Gill a retention contract, he called up a senior IPL franchise CEO for advice. He was told to accept it immediately. "I wish I could tell him something different," the CEO told Cricbuzz. "There is no guarantee we could buy him because of the auction dynamics.
