Former India and Punjab pacer VRV Singh announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Wednesday (March 13), bringing curtains down on an injury-plagued, short-lived career.

The Chandigarh-born pacer made his Test debut for India in 2006 against West Indies at St. John's and went on to play five games for the country in the longest format between 2006-07. He claimed eight wickets in the format, with a personal best of 3 for 48.

He also featured in two ODIs for India, debuting in the 2006 home series against England as a part of a new-look pace attack, but remained wicketless in both games and failed to get the nod again.

The 34-year-old represented Punjab throughout his domestic career and was also a part of the Asia Cup winning Indian U19 side in 2003.

He represented Punjab in 29 first-class games and claimed 121 wickets with a best of 7 for 75. Singh was also a part of the Kings XI Punjab squad for the first three editions of the Indian Premier League.

His last competitive game was Punjab's 2014 Ranji Trophy quarterfinal clash against Jammu & Kashmir where he also claimed a fifer.
