Mulder to Adil Rashid, out Caught by Klaasen!! Meek end to a meek batting performance from England. Adil Rashid just walks off. Length delivery outside off, Rashid tries to steer and edges it behind. Tiny edge and that's it for England with the bat for CT 2025. Adil Rashid c Klaasen b Mulder 2(9)

Ngidi to Buttler, out Caught by Maharaj!! Chipped to mid-off. End of a torturous innings from Buttler. Never looked like he was in. Never looked like he would score runs despite playing for 42 balls before this. Was the seam-up delivery, angled in but taken pace off, was the slower-ball, it's full, Buttler gets forward to drive and it's off a thick inside half, a simple catch and that's the last hope for England gone. They would do incredibly well to bat out their quota from here. 100th ODI wicket for Ngidi who flashes his brilliant smile. Buttler c Maharaj b Ngidi 21(43)

W
Mulder to Jofra Archer, out Caught by Marco Jansen!! Good diving catch to his left. Short of length on off, Jofra Archer pulls flat and Jansen - that man again takes it nicely to his left as he dives at mid-wicket. Judged it well. Decent contribution from Archer but England needed more. Jofra Archer c Marco Jansen b Mulder 25(31) [4s-4]

Marco Jansen to Jofra Archer, FOUR, short and down leg, Jofra Archer finally gets something on the pull, gloves it and it clears the leaping Klaasen for four

Rabada to Jofra Archer, FOUR, Jofra Archer is looking to be attacking. Straight through mid-wicket and four. It's a short of length delivery outside off, short-arm jabbed and Corbin Bosch puts his right leg and right hand out to stop the ball, it slips away and runs for four
27.5
4
Rabada to Jofra Archer, FOUR, slower and shorter outside off, Jofra Archer cuts in the air but wide of backward point and Jansen runs across to his right from square third man and sticks a right boot out, but he is in touch with the cushions when the ball hits the boot - so will be four
27.3
4
Rabada to Jofra Archer, FOUR, Jofra Archer takes it on and gets four. A length delivery and angling into middle and leg, Jofra Archer clears his front leg and heaves it over mid-wicket, no-one at deep mid-wicket

Rabada to Jamie Overton, out Caught by Ngidi!! Now Ngidi with a fine catch at mid-on. Over his shoulder and running back. Length delivery and outside off, Jamie Overton gets forward to whip and it's a thick leading-edge, it is clearing Ngidi but at the last moment he stretches his hands in front of him and catches it - hangs on with his left-hand only. Goes to ground but manages to not drop it. Superb catch that and Overton can't believe that it has been taken. South Africa run as a team to congratulate Ngidi. Just the bowlers left now for England as they sink further. Jamie Overton c Ngidi b Rabada 11(20) [4s-1]
24.2

Maharaj to Jamie Overton, FOUR, slower and on a length outside off, Jamie Overton goes on the back foot and cuts, too much work for sweeper cover and the ball beats him to his left, Maharaj immediately puts his hand up to offer an apology
20.4
W
Maharaj to Livingstone, out Stumped!! What a poor shot that is. Pretty sure both Buttler and Baz won't be happy at all. Livingstone runs down the track, it's looped up and he swipes at it across the line, the ball dips and beats him, almost yorked himself there, so far down the track he was, Klaasen with an easy stumping. Livingstone walks off without making a contribution - a poor tournament for him with the bat. Livingstone st Klaasen b Maharaj 9(15) [4s-1]
20.1
4
Maharaj to Livingstone, FOUR, both Klaasen and slip anticipated the paddle and went to their left but it's wide of them. It's tossed up around off, Livingstone gets it away for four
17.3
W
Mulder to Root, out Bowled!! The in-form Root is gone and problems mount for England. It's a scrambled-seam length delivery on middle, Root completely misses the flick, off the back leg and then on to middle and off. The off-stump falls down and Mulder is pumped. England are five-down and both the set batters gone in successive overs. Mulder leaps in the air and punches it in delight. Root walks off gesturing what the ball did. Maybe a hint of nip too as it landed. Root b Mulder 37(44) [4s-4 6s-1]
17
Maharaj to Buttler, 1 run, slower and tossed up full on leg-stump, Buttler gets forward to drive to long-on, is off the mark
16.5
W
Maharaj to Brook, out Caught by Marco Jansen!! Fine sliding catch from Jansen at long-on. Brook perishes while trying to take on the spinner. It's tossed up on leg-stump, Brook gets forward to loft and does not get the elevation, but places it, Jansen runs to his right, slides on his knees and keeps his eyes on the ball, takes a fine catch with two hands and that's the end of a poor tournament for the generational talent. Jansen meanwhile is all smiles. He can do no wrong today. The partnership is broken. Jansen as replays show ran a fair way to his right - to be precise 28 metres. Brook c Marco Jansen b Maharaj 19(29) [4s-3]
16.3
4
Maharaj to Root, FOUR, beautiful reverse-sweep. Taken from off-stump and then played down, beats the backward point diving to his left
12
4
Rabada to Root, FOUR, what timing from Root. Superb stuff. Was a slower-ball off-cutter on a length on off, wristed wide of the diving mid-wicket to his left and it runs away beating the gingerly chase of Ngidi at mid-on
10.4
6
Mulder to Root, SIX, what a blow. This was the shot he was aiming for the second-last ball, short of length on off, stump-high and Root swivels to pull over the deep square-leg fielder, flew over his head, great connection on the shot, the weight was on the front foot and he got it from there
9.5
4
Rabada to Brook, FOUR, crunched! Brook uses his feet and moves leg-side in the process. He smashes it through covers. The ball reaches the fence at the rate of knots. That was bowled at 146kph and left even at a quicker pace off the bat
8.5
4
Marco Jansen to Root, FOUR, Root is in great nick! Slightly short outside off, Root picks the length quickly and pulls it uppishly. The fielder at mid-wicket dives but it evades him and runs through to the fence
8.3
4
Marco Jansen to Root, FOUR, classy shot! A length ball on middle, shaping away, Root leans ahead and shows the full face of the bat. Unfurls a beautiful straight drive and holfs his pose for the cameras after playing that. No stopping that one
7.3
4
Rabada to Brook, FOUR, back-to-back boundaries! Lovely stroke! A length ball outside off, Brook leans towards it and essays a glorious cover drive to get the desired result. Looked so pleasing to the eye there
7.2
4
Rabada to Brook, FOUR, well played! A back of a length ball outside off, not much width on offer but Brook does well to open his bat-face and punches it nicely through cover-point to find the fence
7.1
Rabada to Root, 1 run, dropped! That was a very difficult chance though! A short of length ball and some room on offer, Root slashes it hard and it's flying towards Mulder at gully. He gets his hands to it to his left but the ball pops out. He hardly had time to react there

W
Marco Jansen to Duckett, out Caught&Bowled!! Marco Jansen gets a 3-fer! He has a beaming smile on his face! Usually Duckett is so good off his pads but this time he plays a false stroke and pays the price for it. A length ball angling down leg, Duckett tries to play his favoured flick shot once again but is early into it this tiime. Ends up getting a leading edge. Marco Jansen on his followthrough does well to steady himself and stretches out both his hands to his left to take a well-judged catch. These catches are not that easy. You have to change your natural direction and ensure that you stay balanced. Good work from Marco Jansen. Duckett c and b Marco Jansen 24(21) [4s-4]
4.4
4
Marco Jansen to Duckett, FOUR, if you bowl at the pads, Duckett will punish you all day! Full ball swinging down leg, Duckett flicks it with good timing through backward square leg. The fielder in the deep moves to his left but has no chance to cut it off
3.3
Ngidi to Duckett, 3 runs, back of a length ball outside off, Duckett punches it through point. Stubbs hares after it and slides to cut it off near the fence. The batters take the call to go for the third but Root is clearly struggling. Good game awareness from Stubbs to take his time and fire in a good throw at the bowler's end. Ngidi is not upto the stumps. Markram from mid-on charges in and collects the ball and tries to flick it back onto the stumps but misses. Root might have been in even if he hit. But, the thing is if Ngidi was near the stumps, Root would have been short. Ngidi was standing mid-way down the pitch
3.2
4
Ngidi to Duckett, FOUR, easy pickings! Full ball on the pads, Duckett whips it past the left side of short fine to pick up another boundary
2.3
W
Marco Jansen to Jamie Smith, out Caught by Markram!! The short ball does the trick again! Marco Jansen is cock-a-hoop! He steams in and digs it into the surface around off. He once again extracts extra bounce off the surface to put Jamie Smith into a tangle. Smith gets rushed and is also cramped for space but goes for the pull across the line and ends up getting a top-edge. Markram at mid-on moves across to his right and takes an easy catch. Jamie Smith c Markram b Marco Jansen 0(3)

Ngidi to Duckett, FOUR, shot! Fullish ball on middle and leg, Duckett stays well-balanced and brings his wrists into play. Whips it nicely through backward square leg to get the desired result

Marco Jansen to Phil Salt, out Caught by van der Dussen!! Phil Salt signs off CT 2025 with another ordinary batting performance! A shortish delivery around off, shoots off the deck and climbs on Phil Salt. He gets into an uncomfortable position but still tries to pull it across. Ends up getting a top-edge as the ball lobs to mid-wicket. Rassie van der Dussen backtracks a bit and reverse cups it nicely. Phil Salt c van der Dussen b Marco Jansen 8(6) [4s-2]

Marco Jansen to Phil Salt, FOUR, just beyond reach of mid-wicket! Phil Salt walks down the track and mistimes his swipe to mid-wicket. Rassie van der Dussen dives full length to his right but it evades him and runs through to the fence

Marco Jansen to Phil Salt, FOUR, intent from Phil Salt! A bit of width on offer and shaping away from Phil Salt. He lines it up and slashes it over covers to get off the mark with a boundary
