Saqib Mahmood to Rahul, out Lbw!! Rahul has been trapped in front but he has taken the review. Did he get some bat on it? Was a yorker length ball that tailed in from middle, Rahul tried to play it across but got beaten on the inside edge to get hit on the back leg. UltraEdge shows a gap between bat and ball. Over to ball-tracking and it returns three reds - it would have gone onto crash into the leg-stump. A good cameo from Rahul. Rahul lbw b Saqib Mahmood 40(29) [4s-3 6s-1]
46.3
4
Saqib Mahmood to Rahul, FOUR, good placement! Rahul backs away and Saqib Mahmood follows him but it's a low full-toss on leg-stump. He opens his bat-face and carves it past the right side of the dive of the backward point fielder. Sweeper cover has no chance to cut it off

Adil Rashid to Hardik Pandya, out Bowled!! That's a ripper to get rid of Hardik Pandya! Adil Rashid finishes with a 4-fer! He gets good inward drift on this one as he bowls it slow through the air and draws Hardik forward. He lunges to keep it out but the ball pitches around leg-stump and turns square to beat Hardik on the outside edge and crashes into middle and off. That's a leg-spinner's dream delivery. Shades of Sharne Warne in that one. Hardik Pandya b Adil Rashid 17(9) [6s-2]
40.5
6
Adil Rashid to Hardik Pandya, SIX, going, going and gone! Hardik Pandya is taking Adil Rashid on. He steps out again, converts it into a slot ball and hits through the line. The bat turned a bit on impact. Brook at long-off leaps but it sails over him and the fence

Adil Rashid to Shreyas Iyer, out Caught by Phil Salt!! A soft dismissal! Slow through the air and turning down leg, Shreyas Iyer could have left it alone but decides to glance. Only manages to get a thin edge. Phil Salt moves his gloves to his left and takes a sharp catch. A good knock from Shreyas Iyer nonetheless. Shreyas Iyer c Phil Salt b Adil Rashid 78(64) [4s-8 6s-2]
38.1
4

W
Adil Rashid to Shubman Gill, out Bowled!! Knocked him over! Shubman Gill departs after playing a terrific knock! Shubman Gill perhaps gives it away a bit early as he kneels down on one knee to play the big sweep. Adil Rashid spots that and slips in the wrong 'un on a full length on off and gets the ball to dip and turn in nicely. Shubman Gill goes through with his attempted sweep shot but the ball passes under his bat and crashes into middle and leg. Gill picked the googly but the length was too full to go for that shot and he pays the price for it. Shubman Gill b Adil Rashid 112(102) [4s-14 6s-3]
33.1
F
Mark Wood to Shreyas Iyer, 1 run, in the air... but safe! A back of a length ball that sticks on the surface, Shreyas Iyer is early into the tuck and miscues it towards deep square leg but it falls short of the fielder. Fifty for Shreyas Iyer! His second fifty of the series and 20th in ODIs! He raises his bat and soaks in all the applause. The 100-run stand also comes up between the duo

6
Adil Rashid to Shubman Gill, SIX, in the airrrr and just over long-off. Flighted delivery from Adil Rashid, Gill steps out and lofts, didn't get great timing on that but just managed to tip it over the bar. Fielder jumped to grab that with the right hand but couldn't
31.4
4
Mark Wood to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR, oh lofted on the rise through the line over mid-off. Slot and punished by Shreyas Iyer
31.2
H
Mark Wood to Shubman Gill, FOUR, Shubman Gill is Ahmedabad ka Raja - the ruler of Ahmedabad. He has a Test hundred, T20I hundred and now an ODI hundred as well here. Add the IPL hundreds too to that list! This is an outstanding innings. The ball was seaming and swinging at the start. He took his time but more importantly got into great positions to negotiate that phase and once he got past that he showed why he rules this venue! Teammates and fans rise to applaud his 7th ODI hundred. He takes the helmet off, raises the bat and bows as he celebrates. Wood offering a length ball on the pads and Gill gracing it with a flick past mid-on
30.4
Livingstone to Shubman Gill, 1 run, shortish delivery, Gill cuts to deep extra-cover
29.4
4

29.1
4
Saqib Mahmood to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR, another easy clip for four through fine leg! Short of a length delivery on the leg stump, Shreyas tickles it for four

Saqib Mahmood to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR, pulled that away nicely over mid-wicket! Short of a length delivery on the stumps, Shreyas sends it over the infield for four more
26.3
4
Livingstone to Shubman Gill, FOUR, turning away, it's short as well and Gill cuts it past backward point. No chance for the sweeper on the off-side again
25.4
6
Atkinson to Shreyas Iyer, SIX, oh fired down leg and Shreyas Iyer just gets inside the line and helps it away over long leg. There was a man in the deep but he was a mere spectator
24
4
Atkinson to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR, in the airrr, just wide of mid-off. Had no intentions of keeping it down. Maybe he wanted to go straighter but the bat turned in his hands and flew to the left of mid-off. Slot ball, punished
23.3
Atkinson to Shreyas Iyer, 1 run, oh nipped back in, Shreyas dabs with soft hands towards the slip cordon and Shubman Gill is alert to the call
22.1
4
Adil Rashid to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR, full and wide, Shreyas reaches out and drives hard, hits it aerial and hits it over extra-cover
22
4
Livingstone to Shubman Gill, FOUR, outstanding shot! He opened up the wrists last minute to place it square. Saw Livingstone tossing this up wide and full, there is no third man and deep point had distance to move so he placed it more towards deep backward point and beat the man in the deep and the man inside the ring as well
20.3
4
Adil Rashid to Shubman Gill, FOUR, there's the one loose ball that's almost inevitable with a leggie. Short and sat up, was leg-side with no one in the deep behind square, Gill rocks back and plays a thank you very much pull over square leg
19.4
4
Livingstone to Shubman Gill, FOUR, oh nicely dabbed late, ball is racing away to the third man fence. Oh looks the foot might have been on contact with the rope when the ball was in conact with the hand. Yes, so the sliding effort after the chase from inside the ring goes in vain

W
Adil Rashid to Kohli, out Caught by Philip Salt!! Adil Rashid gets Virat Kohli out for the 5th time in ODIs. He got him in the last game as well. Brilliant flighted delivery on the stumps. The ball pitched around middle and leg so Virat had to play. Lovely drift in and then a bit or turn away, gentle outside edge and it goes straight to Salt who makes no mistake. Virat almost didn't wait for the finger to go up. Need a side on replay to see if Virat pushed a long way forward at the ball. Oh yes, the bat is well ahead of the pad but it didn't look like a massive lunge though. Could he have controlled that better had he not pushed ahead of the pad? Always an interesting chat about that with Virat. Kohli c Philip Salt b Adil Rashid 52(55) [4s-7 6s-1]
17.4
6
Livingstone to Shubman Gill, SIX, oh he runs down the pitch and muscles this high over the sightscreen. Didn't care about the ball turning away and used his feet to get to the pitch of the ball
17.2
F
Livingstone to Kohli, 1 run, turning away, Virat pushes it through point and that's his 73rd ODI fifty. Him back in the runs befor CT is a big sign and he's not even celebrating this knock. The crowd cheer loud for him
17.1
6
Livingstone to Kohli, SIX, in the airrr, riskyy and just over long-off. They have set a trap for the drive towards long-off. Catching man inside, man at the fence as well. Virat puts on a bold face and lofts through the line with the turn, just managed to clear the leap in the fence
16.5
F
Adil Rashid to Shubman Gill, FOUR, oh rank long hop! The moment he released that ball Adil Rashid knew he messed up. Way too short and sat up, Gill hung back and slapped it in front of square past cover and that gives him his 16th ODI fifty - a hat-trick of fifties in this series. The crowd love to see that milestone and applaud him
16.4
Adil Rashid to Kohli, 1 run, tucked away to short mid-wicket for a sharp single and the 100 is up for India
14.2
Adil Rashid to Kohli, no run, England take a review for lbw! Buttler has a discussion with Adil Rashid and Salt before challenging the decision. Looked leg-sidish to the naked eye. Was a floated full ball around leg-stump, turned in, Kohli leaned ahead to block but played down the wrong line to get struck on the pads. UltraEdge shows daylight between bat and ball. Over to ball-tracking and it's taking some time to load. It rolls in and reveals the ball to have pitched outside leg. That puts the argument to bed. England lose a review
14
4
Atkinson to Shubman Gill, FOUR, shot! A shortish delivery around off, Shubman Gill lines it up and hammers the pull through mid-wicket for a rocketing boundary
13.1
6

13
4
Root to Kohli, FOUR, well played! Overpitched delivery wide of off, Kohli reaches out and crunches it through extra cover to pick up another boundary. 14 runs off the over. The ploy to bring in Root has proved to be expensive so far
12.4
4
Root to Shubman Gill, FOUR, shot! Shubman Gill uses his feet, gets close to the pitch of it and whips it over wide mid-on for another boundary
12.1
4
Root to Kohli, FOUR, poor delivery and duly punished! A full ball down leg, Kohli crouches in his stance and sweeps it past the keeper to find the fine leg fence
11
4
Root to Kohli, FOUR, back-to-back boundaries! Root floats this one and bowls it wider of off, Kohli reaches out to it as he pushes at it but gets a thick outside edge past the keeper. Rehan Ahmed hares after it and puts in a desperate dive near the fence but to no avail
10.5
4
Root to Kohli, FOUR, in the air... but in the gap! Floated full delivery on off, Kohli kneels across on one knee and plays the big sweep. Not in complete control of it but gets it well wide of fine leg to his left and picks up a boundary
9.5
4
Atkinson to Shubman Gill, FOUR, what a shot! It was overpitched alirght but he played that with a lot of swag. He leans ahead, shows the full face of the bat and drills it past the non-striker. The ball races to the fence at the rate of knots. Held his pose after playing that stroke
9.2
4
Atkinson to Shubman Gill, FOUR, skiddy back of a length ball outside off, Shubman Gill's weight was a bit on the front foot as he slashed at it and gets a thick outside edge wide of the slip fielder. Third man is square and can't cut it off
8.4
4
Saqib Mahmood to Shubman Gill, FOUR, crunched! Shubman Gill uses his feet and Saqib Mahmood bowls a short delivery outside off. It comes at a good height for Gill who unfurls his typical short-arm-jab over wide mid-on to find the fence. This is the shot he plays so well and also with a lot of flair and audacity
6.3
4
Saqib Mahmood to Kohli, FOUR, shot! Good length ball and some width on offer, Kohli allows his hands to flow through as he slaps it through point to get the desired result. He played that off the front foot
6.2
4
Saqib Mahmood to Kohli, FOUR, typical Kohli stroke! Pitched up outside off, Kohli brings his bottom hand into play and whips it in the gap between mid-wicket and mid-on for a boundary. That's the quality this man possesses. The length and line doesn't matter when he executes these strokes
6.1
Saqib Mahmood to Kohli, no run, a direct-hit would have been probably curtains for Kohli! He walks down the track and eases this one towards the left of mid-on and takes off for a very risky single. Shubman Gill rightly sends him back. The fielder is on the move so he isn't balanced as he throws the ball weakly. That allows Kohli ample time to rush back and plonk his bat in before Salt takes the bails off
6
4
Mark Wood to Shubman Gill, FOUR, edged but in the gap! 149kph back of a length ball seaming in on middle, Shubman Gill is caught on the crease as he pushes at it but gets a thick outside edge in the gap between second slip and gully. Lucky break from Gill
4.4
4
Saqib Mahmood to Shubman Gill, FOUR, nicely played! Shubman Gill walks down the track and hits the fuller length ball past the bowler to find the fence. His head was still when he made contact and so the timing was on point
3.3
4
Mark Wood to Kohli, FOUR, that's a lovely stroke! Kohli will gain confidence from that. You need such a kind of delivery when your feet are not moving that well. Overpitched outside off, Kohli drives it beautifully through covers to get the desired result
2.4
4
Saqib Mahmood to Shubman Gill, FOUR, pristine! Fractionally overpitched outside off, Shubman Gill leans towards it and creams the drive through extra cover to find the fence. All timing and grace on that one
1.1
W
Mark Wood to Rohit, out Caught by Philip Salt!! Hundred in the last game and out cheaply in this one! A peach from Mark Wood to get rid of the Indian skipper. 142kph delivery in the corridor of uncertainty, straightens just enough to induce a false stroke. Rohit is caught on the crease as he has no option but to play at it and gets a thick outside edge behind. Philip Salt dives to his right and takes a good catch. So, Rohit has to wait to reach the milestone of 11000 runs in ODIs. Ideal start for England. Rohit c Philip Salt b Mark Wood 1(2)
