England vs Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Day 3

England won the session quite comfortably and nipped out five wickets in the first session to leave Sri Lanka struggling at 218 for 6.

Brendon McCullum rang the five-minute bell before the start of Day 3.

Rangana Herath (31) resisted for Sri Lanka with Kusal Perera and added 71 runs for the seventh wicket in the second session.

Kusal Perera scored a 73-ball 42 to take Sri Lanka close to 300.

From 162 for 1, Sri Lanka folded for 288 to hand England a lead of 128 runs.

England made a steady start but Sri Lanka fought back with quick wickets and reduced the hosts to 50 for 3.

Alex Hales remained unbeaten on 41 to help England end the day on 109 for 4 with an overall lead of 237.
