 Profile
Nick Browne is a gritty left-handed top order batsman who made his debut against Worcestershire in the 2013 county season. It took him about an year to cement his place in the Essex team. In 2014, he averaged an exceptional 54.16 and since then his performance graph has only gone in the right direction. In the next season, he became the first player after Ravi Bopara to cross the 1,000 run mark for Essex.

Brownie has a special knack of converting tons into double hundreds, In 2016, he made two double tons and followed that up with another three in the next season. The most staggering part was, he made these double tons in the three consecutive matches. A rare feet in cricket at any level. One of the most memorable moments of his county career thus far has been an unprecedented 373 runs opening stand with the England stalwart, Alastair Cook.

This is an excellent time to score runs as an opening batsman in county cricket as England are on a lookout for openers. They have tried quite a few in the previous couple of years and none of them have managed to cement their place in the side. So, Nick Brownie would be hoping that his consistent performance for Essex could earn him an international call soon and he could get an opportunity to bat alongside his county mate, Alastair Cook for England.
