Sanitha de Mel is a young right-hand batsman and right-arm medium-pacer, who led the Sri Lankan Under-19 team in the 2012 U-19 World Cup. Although he put up a decent performance in the tournament, an over-all weak side meant that Sri Lanka ended up on the 9th place. A year earlier, he had made his first-class debut for Colts Cricket Club against Badureliya Sports Club. He is a handy cricketer, still making his mark in the game.
