SUMMARY

A right-arm fast bowler with a round-arm action, Allen Hill played just 2 Tests for England. He was a force to reckon with in the county circuit though before injuries cut short his efforts.

In 1876-77, he was a part of the English team, which toured Australia for the first Test of all. Hill holds the distinction of taking the first ever Test wicket.

His career came to a grinding halt when he suffered a collar-bone injury. Post retirement, Allen Hill turned to umpiring.
