 Profile
The daughter of a farmer from Maharashtra, Kiran Navgire was initially interested in athletics, representing her school and college in javelin throw, shot put and 100m sprint. Navgire never had any formal training in cricket, and chanced upon playing cricket in her college days at the Savitribai Phule Pune University. She recognised her natural prowess towards cricket and continued playing for her university.

Navgire started her domestic career with Maharashtra in the 2018-19 Women’s One Day League. However, due to limited opportunities and stiff competition, Navgire switched over to Nagaland in 2021. She made headlines when she smashed 162 runs off 76 balls in a domestic T20 game against Assam. Navgire was picked in the 2022 Women’s T20 Challenge as well, and scored a 24-ball fifty in the game between Velocity and Trailblazers.

Her attacking style of cricket and quick scoring caught the eyeballs of the Indian selectors, as she was roped in for the tour to England in 2022. Navgire made her debut in that tour against England, and has since played for India a handful of times without really setting the stage on fire. Navgire has been part of the UP Warriorz team since 2023, having played six times so far in the first two seasons.
