Tejas Patel is a lanky young medium-pacer from Gujarat who made his debut in the 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy for his native state. He was impressive in his first few appearances for his side, extracting movement off the pitch and in the air, particularly with the new ball, and hitting a hard length consistently, and picking up 4/26 against Rajasthan in only his second outing on the 22nd of February 2019. In the limited opportunities he has had down the order, he has also proved that he is an asset with the bat, capable of striking boundaries and earning his team some valuable runs down the order. With age on his side, and a storm of domestic cricket coming up in the near future, Patel is one to look out for, for the national selectors, and perhaps the IPL franchises as well, given his performances in T20 cricket.
