 Profile
Tejal Hasabnis is a budding Indian cricketer known for her versatile skills and aggressive batting. Born on August 16, 1997, in Pune, Maharashtra, she plays as a middle-order batter for the Indian women's cricket team. A right-handed batswoman and right-arm off-break bowler, Hasabnis has represented Maharashtra and West Zone in domestic cricket. Hasabnis has been a good performer in domestic cricket – she has scored over 1,800 runs in Women's List A matches and has also struck three centuries and 12 half centuries. She has also chipped in with the ball, taking 25 wickets at an average of 26.96. Tejal’s good performances in domestic cricket didn’t go unnoticed as she made her ODI debut for India in October 2024, against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Tejal came to prominence in her third ODI, scoring an unbeaten 53 off 46 balls against Ireland in Rajkot in January 2025, helping India chase down a target of 239 with consummate ease.

Tejal enjoys batting with a proactive approach in the middle order. Her ability to change gears when required makes her a valuable asset to the team. She expressed in an interview her preference for chasing targets, stating, "I love chasing”. As far as other notable areas of her life are concerned, Tejal is actively involved in social causes. Inspired by Sachin Tendulkar's call for blood donation, she took the initiative to donate blood and encouraged others in Pune to do the same. She collaborated with local colleges and organisations and helped organise blood donation camps during the COVID-19 pandemic.
