   Profile
Born on 13 June 1982, Brett Geeves is a former Australian right-handed quick and a handy hard hitting lower order batsman. Hailing from Tasmania, he produced some stellar performances in the limited overs version for his side, notably during the 2007-08 FR cup where he was the leading wicket taker with 15 wickets at a miserly average of 25.20. He also played a key role in the finals, taking his side, the Tigers to a nail-biting victory. He followed it up with 37 wickets in the Pura Cup to cap off a successful season. In the same year, he was awarded the Tasmania Player of the Year.

The Australian national selectors rewarded him for his efforts by picking him for the winter series at home against Bangladesh, where he made his ODI debut at Darwin in August, 2008. He bagged an IPL contract in its inaugural year playing for the Delhi Daredevils, a Virender Sehwag led franchise.

Despite making his debut for Tasmania during the 2004-05 season, Geeves was never able to cement his spot in a side thanks to severe knee and back injuries, that made him sit out of more matches than he played. His recurring back problems forced into retirement in 2011 at the age of 29.
