Amitkumar Gautam is a top-order right handed batsman who hails from Dholpur in Rajasthan. He made his first-class debut at the age of 21 against Odisha but it wasn't an amusing debut as the youngster could feel the nerves in his first ever match at the level. Gautam got off the mark with a boundary but that was the only scoring shot he played in that match and before he was trapped lbw. He played for Rajasthan in the following season too but it was in 2018 when he started scoring runs freely and on a consistent basis.

In Rajasthan's first match of Ranji 2018-19, Amitkumar scored a half century against Jammu Kashmir and followed it up with a magnificent knock of 159 against Services in the very next week. For his century Gautam was also awarded with the Man of the Match. A couple of weeks later against Uttar Pradesh, Gautam missed out on a chance to score a century, not once but twice - 93 & 86 being his scores in that contest. In his short first-class career, Amitkumar has played quite a few match defining knocks and that makes him a central member of Rajashtan team.
