You might not give him the ball because the opposition has lost the way but he shows he can still grab the limelight flying around in the field to take a catch. The third ump checks if he picked it up from the ground and thankfully the third ump sees fingers under the ball. These replays so often can be iffy even if the fielder has taken it neat. So Connolly threw it up and asked Mulder to have a go. He did go but he went hard and so flat. The ball wasn't carrying to long-on. Marnus ran in, dived full length forward. Got both hands to it, bounced off the right hand as his fingers were pointing down on the dive. But he closed it with the left hand and importantly had his fingers cushioned under it. Connolly to Brevis, out Caught by Green!! And he's fallen in the trap. The idea was to make him play big shots, not that he wouldn't do otherwise. It was either full or filth to trick him into a mishit. Here full credit to Connolly for firing it really full without giving him room. Brevis couldn't exactly get under the ball so he hit it flatter and a man as tall as Chris Green was always going to be tough to clear the ropes. He is livid with himself. Punches his thigh pad hard with the glove as he walks off. Shame that he missed his deserved fifty by a run. Australia have almost sealed this game now if not earlier. Connolly to de Zorzi, out Caught by Carey!! Connolly breaks the partnership! This was a half-tracker by Connolly, de Zorzi rocks back in the crease and pulls it straight to Carey at deep mid-wicket.
