That's it from game 22! The Zalmi remain the team to beat. They are unscathed. But how long will they manage that? Sultans will be back to the drawing board and will look to iron out flaws. We will be back though with more cricketing action. Bye for now.
Sufiyan Muqeem, Player of the Match: I believe in hard work and try to stay normal and deliver well. My first wicket gave me confidence, and then I was able to take two more. I followed the plans given by Iftikhar bhai and Babar bhai, which helped me succeed. Iftikhar bhai has a lot of experience and shares valuable advice with me (on his performance and guidance from senior players during the match).
Babar Azam: The boys are performing well in all departments. We have to execute our plans and give our 100 percent in all departments. The first 6 overs I felt the ball was coming nicely on to the bat. I calculated 180-200 would be par. The old ball was stopping a little. Credit to Mendis. He has been playing well throughout the tournament. I don't have much tension about the pitch and the conditions thanks to my mates.
Ashton Turner: You know not far off par, maybe a couple of runs more than we'd hoped for but we're always gonna be up for the challenge. You know the outcome of the game is such that it's a great point in the tournament for us to pause and reflect, take the learnings out of the game. You know we've been challenged tonight. They're clearly one of the better teams in the competition. You know but I won't let it mask some really good cricket that we've been playing so far in this campaign. Yeah I mean we're still trying to work out the roles for each of our bowlers. You know we've got some flexibility because we've got, you know, three guys in the top seven who can bowl overs. So, that gives us a lot of flexibility. It allows us to play an extra bowler, but sometimes too many options, that gives the captain a bit of a headache, but look with the ball, we're trying to find the recipe for success, but you know we feel like we're getting closer to it every game. You know, fair play to them. They played some really nice cricket shots tonight.
22:40 Local Time, 17:40 GMT, 23:10 IST: Peshawar Zalmi win an exciting match after a huge collapse by the Multan Sultans in the end overs. For most of the night, Multan Sultans were going well with the chase while chasing 197 runs. By the 15th over, they were in a great position thanks to good batting from Shan Masood, Josh Philippe, and Steve Smith. However, everything went wrong for them in the last 5 overs of the match. The Multan batters fell apart under pressure, managed to score only 27 more runs, and lost 4 important wickets. The Peshawar Zalmi bowlers, especially Sufiyan Muqeem and Nahid Rana, bowled perfectly at the end to stop the runs and take wickets. Because of this brilliant bowling, Multan Sultans finished at 172/8, falling 24 runs short of the goal. It was an amazing comeback by Peshawar Zalmi, who stayed calm and pulled the game back just when it looked like they might lose.
