PLAYER OF THE MATCH
That is a wrap for the season's second double-header! What a thriller to finish the week, ending with a tense Karachi win. We have a break tomorrow, but do join us back on Tuesday for Match 7, cheers!
David Warner | Winning captain : Yeah, look, it does. We did it the hard way. As you just said, Shaheen bowled absolutely outstanding. A great spell. Four wickets, but look, it was a bit tighter than I would like. But look, it's good to have two from two. Yeah, it is. And I think, you know, when you're out there as a batsman, you feel like if you can try and take it deep, it might come into your advantage. But then towards the back end there, you know, we need 15 off the last over. It can be a little bit hairy. It's just good to get the job done tonight. It's a great game for the tournament, actually, you know, Lahore-Karachi on Sunday night. I mean, so we loved it, absolutely. Yeah, it did, and I think it was the last game as well. Our spinners bowled fantastic in tandem. I thought Hamza and Hasan were fantastic as well. So, I think us squeezing in the middle and bowling in partnerships is really helping us at the moment. I think the spinners are licking their lips. But as batsmen, you can take a few balls to adjust and adapt. But look, it's it is what it is. It's unfortunate, but it's the nature of the beast that we're playing at two venues. And um, I'd like to think it's credit to the curators to be able to do that, and us here to play the piece. Yeah look, it seems to be the trend, but hopefully we can beat them in finals time. No, it's a bit of bittersweet today, but there's a long way to go in this tournament.
Shaheen Afridi | Losing captian : Yeah, it was actually a good game. We all tried. We said before and we're telling every day we will fight till the last ball and the team did it. Yeah, I mean, batting was the problem really. 128 obviously not enough runs on the board yet. I mean, the bowlers did their best. No, actually, both batting sides were same, they also struggled, even if it's 128 and you're chasing, you can chase in 15 overs, but it's the same. I'll say our batting was tight and they did it. (Talks about ball tampering) I don't know about this and we'll see if it's there in the camera and discuss what it is. Actually, five runs taken and we can't do anything. Like, you can't say. Not for me, my team is fighting till the last ball, which I need for every game.
Adam Zampa | Player of the match: I guess just summing up the wicket today. I think it was a pretty used wicket now, lowish, slowish, with a little bit of spin. So I tried to use my strengths as much as possible, hit the stumps, yeah, get the ball to slide on here and there as well. So it suited me. I think it's part of becoming a universal bowler, is summing up the conditions. You know, I've played here plenty of times, and you know that it's used. So after a couple of balls, you can kind of sum up the best way to go about it. I mean, you tend to keep things pretty simple. (Talking about why players find it hard to pick Zampa) I guess just using experience now, mate. I know what I'm doing when I get out there. I've got it pretty clear, you know, a lot of clarity in my mind when I'm out there. So, yeah, as I said, there's not a mystery, I guess, to my bowling, but a lot of nows, I think.
The match was a battle between the bowlers, starting with Adam Zampa, who was brilliant for Karachi with amazing figures of 2 for 11. For Lahore, Shaheen Afridi almost saved the game by taking two wickets in an over twice, finishing with 4 wickets in total. Earlier, Abdullah Shafique (33) and Haseebullah Khan (28) were the only ones to score well for Lahore as they finished on 128/9. In the end, Shaheen's heroics weren't quite enough to overcome Karachi’s steady chase and the late penalty. It was a wild ending to a classic rivalry! Stay tuned for the presentations!
22:40 Local Time, 17:40 GMT, 23:10 IST: Karachi Kings have pulled off a dramatic victory, successfully chasing down a target of 129 in a low-scoring thriller. The chase was far from easy on a sticky wicket where the ball constantly stopped on the hitters, making timing nearly impossible. Waseem provided the backbone of the innings with a vital 38, but the Kings found themselves in deep trouble as wickets fell at regular intervals. However, the game took a massive turn in the final over due to an unexpected twist. Lahore was found to have tampered with the ball, leading the umpires to award Karachi 5 penalty runs. This changed the equation from 14 runs needed off 6 balls to a much more manageable 9 off 6, allowing Karachi to keep their cool and cross the finish line with 3 balls to spare.

Haris Rauf to Khushdil Shah, out Caught by Sikandar Raza!! What a catch in the deep to get rid of Khushdil. Batter heaves the length delivery to cow corner. Raza, sets himself under the ball and takes it just inisde the boundary. Maintains balance to not go over the fence. Khushdil Shah c Sikandar Raza b Haris Rauf 13(14) [4s-1]
Haris Rauf to Khushdil Shah, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
14 needed off the final over. It will be Haris Rauf. Can he defend it? Lahore are taking their time to get the field set right. They are late to finish, so they have been penalised with the field. Lahore can only field four fielder's outside the ring due to slow overrate. More delay in play as the fourth umpire runs out with a box of balls. They try to explain Shaheen whats going on. Not sure why it is getting changed. Oh wow, looks like the condition of the ball was changed. Umpires award five-run penalty to Kings. We finally are ready for the final over.
