Shaheen Shah collects the series trophy and walks to his side standing in front of the winners' hoarding. He places the trophies in front of the hoarding and goes to join the team as they pose for photos. The Tests were split 1-1, Pakistan claimed both the T20I and ODI series with identical margins of 2-1. Some regulars missing in the South African camp for the entire tour. So they too will be pleased with how they have performed. That brings to an end our coverage of this series. We will be back with more cricket action. Do join us then. For now it's bye bye from all of us here.
Shaheen Shah Afridi | Pakistan captain (translated from Urdu): It's team-work. The lads did a lot of hard work from the Tests till the ODIs, credit to them. We had decided to take the decision after looking at the wicket. The spinners controlled and bowled in good areas. When you play international cricket, you have to be ready for every situation, the T20I series is coming up and we are looking forward to it. We will have to be ready for the next challenge.
Matthew Breetzke | South Africa captain: Yeah, not enough runs. I think when we were batting out there, we were probably looking at 250. We thought it was a good score with these tough conditions. But unfortunately, we lost too many wickets there. It wasn't easy. Abrar bowled really nicely. When I got out on that last over, I was going to look to get a little bit more positive after that. But, you know, the conversation was just to try and play as straight as possible in that invariable bounce. It was too good for us. (learnings from this series) It's massive. I think, obviously, we're really experiencing these conditions, not in sort of our favor, what we're used to. But, you know, we can take a lot of learnings. We're going to India next. So, you know, we can take a lot of confidence from that. (on the youngsters) Lhuan-Dre has been really special at the top of the order. And Nandre, with his aggression there in the powerplay, we've known that for a while now. So, yeah, it's good to see what we've got in stock there. (enjoyed captaincy?) It was cool. It was a different experience. Obviously, I would have loved to have won the series. But in saying that, I've learned a lot about the captaincy and going forward, hopefully they help.
Quinton de Kock | Player of the Series: It was alright, bit disappointed that we didn't win. Batting conditions were tough, we did not bat well, it's unfortunate but it's what it is. It's my first time playing white ball cricket in Pakistan, so it's nice to get out and learn a couple of things about my own game. I'm pretty sure a couple of the young guys are also first time to Pakistan. Learned a couple of things about how to play spin. The wickets stayed low. So, hopefully, they'll walk away and learn something. So, it was a good experience. A tough one, but a good one nonetheless. (on the experience of playing here) I think it's individual based on everyone. I think what will happen now is, obviously, guys will go home, just have a quick break and then think about their game going forward for when they come back to the subcontinent. And then, obviously, when they come back to the subcontinent, train what they need to get out of it. So, I think that's pretty much all it is.
Abrar Ahmed | Player of the Match (translated from Urdu): I read the pitch and bowled according to the pitch. Did what Rizwan bhai told me. Whatever I learned, I applied it here today. I keep things simple, I don't think much. If you are doing variations, then I need to keep it simple, that's what I did. I'm very happy with this performance and if you perform in a pressure game then it's good.

Pakistan's last 9 ODIs vs South Africa
Won: 7
Lost: 2
19:59 Local Time, 14:59 GMT, 20:29 IST: For the first time Pakistan have beaten South Africa at home in an ODI series. Shaheen Shah begins his stint with a win. The damage was done earlier in the day when South Africa collapsed from 106/2 to 143 all-out. From there it was going to be a gigantic task for South Africa, Burger though struck in the first over to get Fakhar but Saim and Babar calmed nerves with a stand of 65. Saim continued on and struck the ball cleanly before perishing just before the win. South Africa didn't have the runs on the board and despite grip and turn for the spinners, the ball skidded on nicely in the 2nd innings. A one-sided game today but the series as a whole was well-fought. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff...
