20:06 Local Time, 18:06 GMT, 23:36 IST: Sigh! There we have it. Handhsakes. Match abandoned - both teams get 2 points each. Quite unfortunate that the only action the SA20 double-header weekend saw was the toss. Both games were impacted by inclement weather, but things are looking much brighter for tomorrow, when MI Cape Town take on Paarl Royals at Newlands. We can’t wait to bring you all the action from that game. Cheers and good night for now!!
20:00 Local Time, 18:00 GMT, 23:30 IST: It continues to rain in Centurion. Safe to assume that we won't see any play today. Just a matter of minutes before we get an official word from the ground.
19:23 Local Time, 17:23 GMT, 22:53 IST: The drizzle has gotten heavier now. These are not good signs. We will start losing more overs.
19:09 Local Time, 17:09 GMT, 22:39 IST: Live visuals show that the covers are in place but the drizzle has gotten very light. There were flashes of lightning in the sky at a fair distance from the ground but that's still a concern and that's why the groundsmen haven't taken the covers off.
19:03 Local Time, 17:03 GMT, 22:33 IST: Oh no! It has started to rain again so the start might be delayed.
Pitch Report | Chris Morris: As a player, we always just do want to bowl first so we can chase because it does usually get quicker at night and gets a lot more truer. A lot of true that will play a bit of effect. So it usually does get better. It starts to skid on a little bit. But what I can say about the Centurion pitch is whenever we look at it, and I'm going to show you quickly, if you see the cracks over here, so there's a crack over there and another one over here. And what we always say, if there's a little bit of green grass around those cracks, it tends to be an absolute belter. So my prediction is that we've had quite a few scores at 400-plus in both innings. Potentially could be another 400-run day for me.
We have an official confirmation that it will be a 16 overs per side game. Four bowlers can bowl a maximum of 3 overs each while one bowler can bowl a maximum of 4 overs. The powerplay will be for 4.5 overs in each innings.
Durban Super Giants (Playing XI): Devon Conway, Kane Williamson, Jos Buttler, Aiden Markram(c), Heinrich Klaasen(w), Evan Jones, David Wiese, Eathan Bosch, Daryn Dupavillon, Kwena Maphaka, Noor Ahmad
Markram: We would have bowled as well with the weather around but we have an opportunity to score runs. We have one change - Daryn Dupavillon comes into the side and Harmer goes out.
Maharaj: We are gonna have a bowl first, will try to use the overcast conditions and the moisture on the surface. The one change is that Smeed misses out and Andre Russell comes in.
Pretoria Capitals have won the toss and have opted to field
18:47 Local Time, 16:47 GMT, 22:17 IST: The toss is around the corner, just three minutes away to be precise. The match is set to start at 7.15pm local time provided there is no more rain. We are hearing that it will be a 16 overs per side game but let's wait for official confirmation.
18:25 Local Time, 16:25 GMT, 21:55 IST: We have some good news. The rain seems to have stopped and we are hearing that the covers are coming off.
17:35 Local Time, 15:35 GMT, 21:05 IST: The game should have started by now but due to rain, the start has been delayed. The weather continues to be gloomy.
17:05 Local Time, 15:05 GMT, 20:35 IST:The toss has been delayed. It's still drizzling steadily and things are looking gloomy at present.
16:45 Local Time, 14:45 GMT, 20:15 IST:It's drizzling in Centurion. The covers are in place at present. Let's hope the weather clears up soon...
16:30 Local Time, 14:30 GMT, 20:00 IST: Hello and a warm welcome to the second game of today’s double-header in the SA20 League. Fifth-placed Pretoria Capitals will play hosts to fourth-placed Durban Super Giants at Centurion. Both teams have had an insipid start to the season and have only won one game each. The Capitals come into this game on the back of a superb all-round performance against MI Cape Town though. Rutherford shone with both bat and ball and stole the limelight in that game. DSG, on the other hand, have been pretty inconsistent. They lost both their previous games against JSK – the last game between both those sides was a nail-biting contest as it went to the Super Over. JSK edged out their opponents when it mattered the most. Both teams need to gather some steam to get into the thick of things. Earlier in the day, unfortunately the game between JSK and SEC got washed out due to rain without a ball being bowled. There’s some forecast for rain through the course of this game as well but let’s hope it stays away. Toss and team lineups will be announced shortly...
