A big win for the Super Kings and they've moved to second in the table. This heavy loss has left the Super Giants slipping to third position. But the tournament is only 6 games old and there's plenty of time for teams to either slip up / make a comeback. We'll be back tomorrow for what should be a thrilling double-header to wind off 2025. Do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
Prenelan Subrayen | Player of the Match - I think it was just about playing the way I normally do at Kingsmead. It’s one of my favourite grounds, so I tried to keep things as simple as possible. Pretty stock-standard Kingsmead, to be honest. We’re used to playing on these kinds of wickets for the Dolphins, so it felt very familiar. I think it all starts right from the top. Everything’s in place — mentally and tactically — and the group is very smart in how it goes about its cricket (on the tactics and plans)
Faf du Plessis | JSK Captain - It was obviously nice to know what you're chasing, but certainly wasn't easy work. Scruffy, scruffy win, but obviously a bonus plus one. Both those guys (Williamson and Conway) are timers of the ball, and want pace on the ball. So, I used something at them that'll stop. Subrayen playing his first game, on his home ground and it was a tactical move and he came good. Finger spinners get a lot on tacky surfaces. Quality bowling today. I don't think De Villiers was thinking he'd keep at all this season but I said to him yesterday that he may have to keep at some point. In T20 cricket, one has to be proactive. Pacers bowled well too but spinners were difficult.
Aiden Markram | DSG Captain - Just caught off guard today, and have to take those sorts of lessons with us into Jo’burg. Not too sure if we’re going to get there either with all the weather around. We’ve got a lot of experience in the sheds, especially from a batting point of view, and those guys know exactly what they’re doing. So we’ll leave that to them, trust the boys, and find a way to hopefully win the next one.
20:19 Local Time, 18:19 GMT, 23:49 IST: A convincing win in the end, but they were made to work hard during the initial part of the 87-run target. David Wiese and Ethan Bosch struck early, Simon Harmer bowled beautifully and should've had more than one wicket - at 24 for 3, the Super Kings were in some trouble, but Rilee Rossouw bailed them out with a 32-ball 43. DSG did have their chances - Rossouw was dropped twice and then the ball brushed the off-stump with the bails not moving, but his knock took all the pressure off and du Plessis' men cantered home to secure a win with a bonus point. To be fair, the job was done earlier by the bowlers and the hosts needed a miracle with the ball to win this contest.

Noor Ahmad to Rossouw, out Bowled!! Rossouw falls attempting an early finish - tossed up and spinning back into the left-hander, Rossouw didn't pick the length as he set himself up for the big slog-sweep - misses it completely and hears the sound of timber. He's had a fair share of luck in this innings, but it's over now. Rossouw b Noor Ahmad 43(32) [4s-5 6s-1]
