October 2024: New Zealand's first-ever Test series win in India. January 2026: New Zealand's first-ever ODI series win in India. Just like that Test series, they've outplayed the Indians in all facets of the game. And this isn't even their full strength side as they were without Kane Williamson, Mitchell Santner, Tom Latham, Rachin Ravindra and Jacob Duffy. Despite having a largely inexperienced bowling attack, they made the hosts toil hard for the win in Vadodara. They were clinical in their run-chase in Rajkot. And today, they missed Bracewell's services with the ball, but yet they found a way to restrict the famed Indian line-up on a good batting deck in Indore. India 1 - 2 New Zealand is the final scoreline. It's time to bring the curtains down on this entertaining ODI series. With the T20 World Cup starting in less than 3 weeks, these two sides will now shift focus to the 5-match T20I series which commences on 21st January. We'll be there to bring you all the action. For now, goodbye and good night..
Bracewell collects the trophy from Mithun Manhas and joins his team-mates as they pose with the WINNERS hoarding.
Michael Bracewell | New Zealand captain: It's always a pleasure to come over here and play in India in front of these amazing fans and play such a great team. So to be able to come over here and win a series the first time a New Zealand team's done it was pretty special. You're always hopeful when you're going to come over here and play some good cricket. As a group, we really stuck to what we know works as a team and it's been outstanding to be able to do that and test ourselves in foreign conditions. (On New Zealand cricket) We're the sum of all the parts of the team and we really try to work together as a group. That's part of the Kiwi way, we're just a small country from the bottom of the world and we try to work together to take on some of the bigger countries in the world. We really rally around as a group and when things come like that, it's pretty special. (On Mitchell) He's been amazing in the one-day format for a few years now. He's done beautifully and led the batting attack. He's a pretty humble guy, so to see him go through his thing and get the reward he deserves is pretty special. Whenever you expose new people to international cricket, having three debutants on this tour, that's very cool. Getting to experience the crowds is a wonderful thing. I think particularly those debutants who have stepped up and done a great job for us, all three of them. So, that's been particularly pleasing on this tour. Growing the depth of cricket in New Zealand is awesome.
Daryl Mitchell | PoTM and PoTS - It's really nice, to contribute to the team and to a win over here in India is very special for our group. As a group, the way with the bat that we built partnerships, with Will Young at the start and then with Glenn Phillips comes in and does what GP does (Glenn Phillips), it's pretty special. It's really nice to be out there with your mates and getting stuck in the moment and nice to get across the line. I'm just trying to concentrate on being really present, I'm trying to watch the ball and repeat that over and over again and hopefully make some good decisions along the way. And it's nice to have some success. GP's a good mate and it's awesome to see him get a hundred as well. Partnerships are something we pride ourselves on as a group. To do that with GP, who's obviously been out injured for a long time as well, so just really proud how he's come back into what he's doing. I love playing for my country and it took a little while to get here, but I look at all those years. Domestic cricket allowed me to learn my game and then work out how I want to go about it once I got the silver fern on my chest. Just really proud to be part of this group and it's pretty cool.
Shubman Gill | India Captain - After the first match, coming here 1-1, the way we played - a bit disappointed. Lot of areas that need some improvement. There are areas we need to look back, reflect and do better. (On the positives) The way Virat bhai is batting, that's definitely a plus always. The way Harshit has batted in this series, batting at No. 8, it's not easy, but the way he stepped up and the way our fast bowlers have bowled in this series has been pretty good. Keeping the World Cup in mind and where it's going to be,, we want to give him (Nitish Kumar Reddy) opportunities and we want to give him enough overs when he's out there and just see what kind of combinations work for us and what kind of deliveries work for him as well.

Jayden Lennox - I wouldn't say it was easy, against a star-studded line-up, putting up back-to-back wins is something special, it's our 1st series win here. I've not tried to overcomplicate things, I've grown up bowling at Pukekura Park and some other small stadiums, my work was just to put the pressure (on the batters) and aid the others. I think the aim of the left-arm spinners in short form is to be unpredictable, try to stay out of the shorter side and look to get under the batter. It's not too difficult, it's all about execution. It's not too far away from home (smiles when told about having to play in front of such a large crowd), some 23,000 people - the atmosphere I thought will make me more nervous, but very very special to be part of a series winning team. It just shows the depth of New Zealand cricket, we've got a relatively inexperienced line-up, but there's a lot of talent back home and kudos to the set-up back home that we're performing in big moments and in big series on big stages
Chasing 338, India lost both their openers inside the powerplay. Rohit, for the third time, fell trying to play an aerial shot. Gill was nipped out by a wonderful in-seaming delivery from Jamieson. Shreyas Iyer threw his wicket away against a shortish ball and Rahul didn't last long either. At 71/4, India were in deep trouble. Nitish Reddy joined Kohli and both the batters registered their fifties to keep the scoreboard ticking. The former fell immediately after his half-ton and Jadeja holed out against Lennox. At 178/6, India looked down and out despite their best batter still at the crease. But Harshit Rana showed his batting prowess. He took a while to get going but once he got his eye in, he smashed some monstrous sixes. Kohli recorded yet another ton, Harshit notched up his maiden fifty and suddenly India's hopes started to become realistic as the asking rate was under 10 RPO with 7 overs remanining. However, Foulkes' twin strikes upset the applecart and Kohli miscuing a loft on 124 extinguished all the hopes. The New Zealand bowlers, in the absence of Bracewell, held their nerves to emerge victorious
15:58 GMT, 21:28 IST: From 0-1 down, New Zealand have come back superbly to register their first-ever ODI series win in India. Plenty of hugs in the New Zealand camp. This is a historic moment. Phillips, who scored a direct-hit to wrap up the proceedings, punched the air hard in absolute ecstasy. His reactions tell you how big this victory is. Mind you, he along with Mitchell played a big role earlier in the day to set up this win. Mitchell and Phillips scored centuries and were involved in a magnificent double hundred partnership that helped New Zealand post 337 in this series-decider. Given the history and nature of this track, it seemed like a par score. But New Zealand were switched on from ball one in the second innings.

Kristian Clarke to Arshdeep Singh, out Kuldeep Yadav Run Out!! New Zealand win! 128.6kph, Arshdeep hops and taps this length ball towards cover and sets off for a sharp single. Phillips swoops to his right, pick it up with his right hand and hits the bullseye at the keeper's end to catch Kuldeep short of his ground. Top stuff from GP as he had just one stump to aim at! The New Zealand players watch it on the big screen and the celebrations begin. Kuldeep Yadav run out (Phillips) 5(3) [4s-1]
