20:54 Local Time, 12:54 GMT, 18:24 IST: A great day's cricket at the WACA! Almost 300 runs were scored and 13 wickets fell. Healy won an important toss and the decision to bowl first on a helpful surface worked nicely for Australia. They kept on striking at regular intervals and never allowed India to get into rhythm. Rodrigues was the only one who looked assured and she went onto raise a fifty but she fell soon after that. A few other Indian batters got starts but couldn't convert them into anything significant. Sutherland was the pick of the bowlers for Australia as she took a 4-fer while Lucy Hamilton impressed on her debut to pick up a 3-fer. In response, the hosts got off to a wobbly start with the bat. The Indian seamers got the Pink ball to swing and seam under lights and kept the Aussie batters on their toes. Both their openers, Voll and Litchfield, departed cheaply. Perry looked a bit nervy to start with but she settled in nicely later on. Healy was dismissed for 13 (this could be her second-last innings in international cricket) in a soft manner as she fell to the debutant, Sayali Satghare. Sutherland batted positively from the word go and has provided good support to Perry. The runs came at a good pace for them at the fag end of the day.
