Yuzvendra Chahal | Player of the Match (translated from Hindi): It is a team effort. We wanted to be positive and we felt if we get 2-3 wickets in the powerplay then it will be good. We saw their spinners turn it and it helped us. When I bowled the first ball, it turned, Shreyas asked me if I wanted a slip, we wanted to be attacking as we had less runs and the only way we could win was by taking wickets. In the last game I conceded 56 for 4 overs, but I had full confidence and backed myself and my abilities. I always have the mindset of how to get the batters out, I varied my pace and if they have to hit, they will have to make an effort. When you win such a game, the team's morale will be high. It's my first man of the match for Punjab, I'm confident if I keep backing my skills and believe in myself, then I will get success.

Shreyas Iyer | PBKS Captain: It is hard to express in words. I was just backing my instincts. I saw the ball turn a bit, asked Yuzi to control his breathing as much as possible. We needed to be attacking and the right players were in the right places. It is tough to talk right now and such wins make it special. I personally felt, when I went out to bat, I faced two balls - one stayed low and one hit the bottom of the bat, people were finding it difficult to sweep. There was variable bounce in the wicket, we got a decent total to be honest, looking at the win of 16 runs. The bounce was not consistent. We had this at the back of our mind and we asked the bowlers to keep this in mind. And they executed it. Two wickets in two overs that gave us that kind of momentum and the two batters came in and took the momentum towards them. When we saw Yuzi came in and turn the ball, our hopes and expectations were higher and I wanted the field to be attacking and right in front of their face so that they make mistakes and the tide turned towards us. It is important we stay humble and not get over-hyped with this win. It is important we take all the positives from this game and try to execute from ball one in the next game.

Ricky Ponting | Head coach PBKS: The heart rate is still up there. I'm 50 years now and don't need more game like these. Defending 112, with 16 runs up our sleeves. We actually said to the guys at the halfway mark that these really small chases , like these, are sometimes the hardest. The wicket wasn't easy, as you can see that right through the game, it was definitely holding up, but what about Chahal tonight? How good a spell of bowling was that! He actually had a fitness test before the game today with his shoulder injury he picked up in the last game and I grabbed him out of the warm-up and looked him in the eye and said, 'Mate are you okay?' He said coach I am 100 percent right, let me out there, yeah what a spell of bowling! Even if we had lost that game, I couldn't have been proud of the way we went about the second half. Our batting was poor, the shot selection and execution that was all poor, but when I saw us take the field and we got the wickets early on and what we we have been lacking is, bit of belief to the ball and bit of energy in the field and that was there for everyone to see tonight. So, if we had gone down in a really close one, I would have been telling the guys that was actually a season-defining moment and might be now as well. To be able to dig deep and win a game like that, I reckon at the halfway mark there weren't too many people around the world that thought that we could have defended it and we have, credit to all the boys. They were terrific tonight. (Talking about what worked for the team after the first innings) The way we changed things up with the ball, with Marco taking the first over and Bartlett taking the second. It would have only been a role for Arshdeep with the brand new ball, but the match-ups tonight suggested that Jansen and Bartlett are better suited. So, we had to change a little bit there. Wins like these are always the sweetest one, and if you can pull this off, then you should be as good as win as most guys been involved in and I have coached a lot of games in the IPL and that might just be about the best win I ever had.

Rahane | KKR captain: Nothing to explain, we all saw what happened there. Pretty disappointed with the effort. I'll take the blame, played the wrong shot, although it was missing. He wasn't very sure (his chat with Angkrish after being given out LBW). He said it could be umpire's call. I didn't want to take a chance at that time, I wasn't sure as well. That was the discussion. Not really (was NRR in the mind?). We batted really badly as a batting unit, we take full responsibility. Bowlers did really well on this surface, restricting a strong Punjab batting lineup to 111. As an individual, you still have to be confident and positive. On this wicket, batting with full face (was better). Sweep was pretty hard to play. Keep the intent going but play cricketing shots. We were reckless and should take full responsibility. At the moment, too many things going in my head. It was an easy chase for us. When I go upstairs, need to keep myself calm and then think about what to say to the boys. Still have to be positive. Half of the tournament is still remaining. Have to address this and move forward.

The scenes in their dugout and in the crowd resembles utter madness. Everyone roaring, hugging and clearing their throats. KKR meanwhile look like a kid whose favorite toys have been stolen right under their noses. Such contrasting emotions. Rahane still manages a smile as he walks out for the post-match handshakes. Everyone was wondering at the innings break, how quickly KKR could chase this down. But it has been PBKS who have made an epic comeback. Two early wickets gave PBKS hope - of the openers - but Rahane and Raghuvanshi steadied the ship with the latter playing some beautiful shots. Rahane did not review when impact was outside off and was happy to walk off, that's where the game turned and Chahal who has not had a great tournament so far, spun a web and bowled an outstanding spell well complemented by Maxwell, Arshdeep and Marco Jansen. Once Chahal found his rhythm, wickets fell regularly and it was left to Russell to win it for KKR. He struck 16 in one Chahal over but Arshdeep and Jansen combined to get Arora and Russell to spark delirious scenes in New Chandigarh.
