While things are getting heated up in Bangalore at the auction table, elsewhere in Johannesburg, two teams are all set to resume their battle under controversial circumstances. The surface at the Wanderers came under plenty of criticism and despite the resoluteness displayed by the Indians with the bat in order to force a result, the umpires had to call the players off the field just minutes before stumps when Dean Elgar copped blow after blow to his body due to the unpredictable nature of the surface.
While the Indian fans were temporarily kept in awe with the amount of moolah that was on display, the focus shifts back to the Test match. Contrasting emotions were on display from both the camps once the play was called off last night and at one stage, it appeared as if the Test would be called off. India would have been livid had that happened especially after the fight they put up in order to set South Africa a target of 241.
After plenty of deliberation, it was finally decided that the Test would resume but we all hope that no player gets hurt seriously today. Our correspondent at the venue Kaushik Rangarajan informs us that there is a slight drizzle. The pitch is covered but the teams are still warming up. Welcome to the live blog for the fourth day's play of the third and final Test. Send in your opinions to @Narbavi and have them featured on the blog.
