That's all from the 7th clash of CPL 2025 folks! We'll be back with more CPL action as St Kitts and Nevis Patriots lock horns with Barbados Royals tomorrow, so do join us! Ciao for now!
Imad Wasim: I think Fabian played well, he took the pressure off me. It was a winning score. We would have taken that total. Obed McCoy bowled really well. The big wicket was Pooran, the way Cornwall bowled. Everybody chipped in. We were in the game with wickets at the top. We want to gain momentum. The confidence is high, we have to turn around quickly. Not taking things lightly. Guyana is always a tough team to beat. We are playing at home, so we want to put a up a good show in front of the home crowd.
Pooran: We were happy with that total, but their bowlers did an incredible job. We were happy to chase 167. It (leading the team) has been great. They bowled really well, kudos to them. For us it is important to use our experience. We need to take it deeper as a group. Need to take accountability as a batting unit.
Obed McCoy, Player of the Match: It happens (missing out on a five-wicket haul), that's cricket. The pitch was gripping, so I stuck to my strengths. I stuck to my variations. I had to be smart. I could get a wicket or two with pace off the ball. Proud of myself. I am getting it done with my performances.
22:41 Local Time, 02:41 GMT, 08:11 IST: Antigua and Barbuda Falcons register a close win and move to the top of the table. Earlier in the day, the Falcons were in a spot of bother when they were reduced to 77/5 while batting first, but it has been a remarkable turnaround from them to clinch this game from that dicey situation.. Imad Wasim and Fabian Allen chipped in with crucial knocks to set up a challenging total and their bowlers have done a formidable job to defend it in reply. Colin Munro got them off to a flying start during the run chase, however, the TKR innings derailed once the opener departed. Obed McCoy bowled a fantastic spell as he kept taking wickets at regular intervals and the Trinbago Knight Riders had no reply to his variations. Pollard was dropped a couple of times by the Antigua fielders and he did give them a scare, especially by smashing 22 runs in the 19th over. Shamar Springer bowled an exceptional 20th over as he conceded only 5 runs. Stay around for the presentations..
