Having reached the semifinal last time around, Sri Lanka will be looking to go one or even two steps further this time, which will also provide a huge relief to their passionate fans who have been enduring some mediocre performances from the senior side. But if the recent form guide is anything to go by, Sri Lanka will have to pull up their socks.
After getting thrashed 4-1 by Australia last year, Sri Lanka failed to reach the semifinal of the Asia Cup recently. Australia humbled them again in the warm-up game with the top order crumbling but in Ireland, they have an opponent against whom they can regain their mojo with a dominating display on Sunday (January 14).
