History!!

At the start of the Ranji Trophy, Vidarbha winning the tournament would have been shooed off as wishful thinking. But now, they stand proud as winners of Ranji Trophy 2017-18, having defeated Delhi by 9 wickets for a famous win.

It will be a season no one will ever forget, even Wasim Jaffer, who had won eight Ranji Trophy titles previously. Their bowlers stood out with some outstanding spells, their batters played some scintillating knocks, and everyone who was looked at for support, came out trumps.

Vidarbha! Ranji Trophy Champions!

Delhi move into the lead

Well, atleast Delhi have made sure Vidarbha will have to bat again. Sudan and Mishra have put on 20+ run stand to frustrate Vidarbha and move Delhi into the lead. In fact, they are bowled out soon after. Vidarbha are just 29 runs away from history. What a day this is going to be for them!

Lives by the sword, dies by it

Rishabh Pant's short stay has been filled with quite a few attempted slog. Some have come off and looked good while the rest have only made him look ugly. The last of those gets a top edge and goes straight to Apoorv Wankhade around the third man region. Top six back in the hut for Delhi. Will Vidarbha look to go for an innings win?

They seem to be getting there, for sure. Saini departs cheaply, and it leaves Vidarbha just two wickets away from history

Short stay

Himmat Singh is unable to make an impact in the second essay like he did in the first. Akshay Wakhare has him bowled off the fourth ball. Fifth wicket down for Delhi. Will there be a change in Delhi's approach?

Tea break

Rajneesh Gurbani has provided Vidarbha with another timely breakthrough. Nitish Rana flirted with a delivery outside off and gave the wicketkeeper an easy catch in the last over before Tea. He is disappointed with himself, and he should be. It was an unnecessary shot, especially after having done all the good job. Vidarbha, who were on the backfoot for most parts of the pot-Lunch session will go to Tea happy.

On fifth gear

Rishabh Pant has just arrived to the crease and immediately made an impact. He goes down the track to Rajneesh Gurbani and hits the ball out of the stadium. Nitish Rana steps up as well with a couple of boundaries. Delhi's innings has got a move on.
