Windies, a side which retained its core from the team that enjoyed a run to the final of the previous edition of the World Cup, are unlikely to repeat the feat in 2017. On Thursday (July 6), like on most other days of the 2017 Women's World Cup, they produced a meek batting display and followed that up with an equally insipid bowling show to gift wrap New Zealand their second victory of the tournament.

Coming into the match with only one win from three games, the eight-wicket win at The Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton has given New Zealand's campaign a massive boost.

Suzie Bates, New Zealand skipper, won the toss and elected to field. Windies, right from the start, found it difficult to give their innings any momentum. Pacer
