BANGLADESH WIN! Their brilliant tour of Sri Lanka continues as they pick up a clinical 90-run win over the hosts. An all-round effort comes to fruition as they take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, as Sri Lanka slipped to their sixth consecutive loss.

It started off with Tamim Iqbal's brilliant century, along with fifties from Shakib and Sabbir Rahman that gave Bangladesh 325 to defend. Mustafizur, Mortaza and Hasan chipped in to help bowl out Sri Lanka for 234. However, massive credit to Thisara Perera for that fighting knock of 55 off just 35. But it wasn't good enough on the night.

Bangladesh are a different unit and have showcased how good a one-day side they are once again. This is also the first time that they have beaten Sri Lanka when defending. All credit to the Tigers for a brilliant performance. Thank you for joining us today. See you when the sides take on each other in the second ODI. Until then, goodbye!

AND OUT: Great work from Mustafizur in the field who sends a throw from the deep to run Sandakan out. The lower-order bat was caught short after he stopped outside his crease and then took off for the run. Sri Lanka lose their ninth. Almost done now. Perera though, is still fighting.

FIFTY: Perera continues to dispatch the Bangladesh bowlers over the ropes. Sends one from Mustafizur straight back, stands and watches. Brings up his half-century - the fastest between these two sides. Comes off just 28 balls. What a knock this has been from the all-rounder. Sri Lanka need 95 off 42 balls now. Can they do it?

Lakmal perishes. Even if Sri Lanka get close, they must rue the fact that they're short on wickets. Bangladesh, in a similar position, could afford to attack because they had more than a handful of wickets. Mustafizur gets his second as Lakmal skies it to Sabbir Rahman at mid on. Eight down, two to go.

LAST 10: Sri Lanka need 122 off the last 10. Bangladesh got 109. Who knows what's possible.

Thisara Perera, the power hitter, has made a move on, racing away to 28 off just 16. He hit Mortaza for back-to-back boundaries, following it up with a six.

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST: Pathirana falls... Bangladesh have their seventh wicket. Should be over soon, this. Mortaza with his second after the batsman skies one straight to cover.

SIX AND OUT: Siriwardana smashes Mustafizur for a maximum but perishes off the next delivery. The short ball does the batsman in, after he pulls it to deep mid-wicket. Substitude fielder Shuvagata dives to his right and takes it. Sri Lanka are slipping, and fast. Six down now.

WICKET: What a scalp for Miraz! Is that curtains for Sri Lanka? Dinesh Chandimal top-edges while attempting to sweep and is caught at short fine-leg. His innings ends on 59 off 70 and Sri Lanka have lost five!

WICKET: With the asking rate rising close to 9, the Sri Lankans had to try something new. Asela Gunaratne tries to attack Shakib, but ends up hitting it to Mossadek at backward point. The fielder dived forward to complete a great catch to break the fifty-run stand. Sri Lanka sink further to 89/4.

A few runs have come in the last five overs. Sri Lanka have scored at over 6 in the last five.

Mustafizur comes into the attack as Bangladesh's fifth change bowler. That's right! You heard me... fifth change! That's how good they've been today.

Noteworthy: Sri Lanka's current run-rate is 2.87, at 43/3. Bangladesh, at the end of 15 overs, were 89/1.

There's the difference between the two sides: fielding. The commitment and intensity that Bangladesh are displaying in the field was a feature that Sri Lanka lacked. It has cost them not just more than just a few runs, but also has kept them under check as Bangladesh are displaying some clinical cricket.

AND ANOTHER ONE: Tharanga was outdone by some extra pace after attempting the pull, mistiming it to mid on where Mortaza takes an easy catch to give Taskin his first wicket in his first over. Bangladesh on top! Sri Lanka look like a hapless unit at the moment. Will need something special from here to win. The hosts lose their skipper for 19.

WICKET: Finally some reward for the talented Hasan. He bags the wicket of Kusal Mendis in the 6th over. Looking to up the ante, the batsman tried to go over the top but sends the ball only as far as deep mid-wicket where substitute fielder Shuvagata Hom holds on to the ball. Sri Lanka are 15 for 2 after 6.

ALMOST: Upul Tharanga survives after close stumping call. Brilliant bowling by Hasan who draws the batsman out of the crease and the bails are brought down quickly. The replays were inconclusive if Tharanga had some part of his foot behind the line and the third umpire rules in favour of the batsman.

BAG OF TRICKS: Impressive bowling from debutant Mehedi Hasan, who is sharing the new ball with his skipper. He's beaten the bat on a couple of occasions and the Sri Lankans aren't reading him well. Is he going to strike soon?

REVIEW LOST: Mortaza thinks he has also trapped Kusal Mendis in front in the 3rd over. The umpire rules in favour of the batsman and he's proved right by the third umpire. A review is wasted as the ball was sliding down the leg-side. Over-excitement proves costly for Bangladesh.

EARLY STRIKE: The skipper strikes in the first over. Danushka Gunathilaka has to depart for a duck, trapped in front for a duck in the opening over by Mashrafe Mortaza. The batsman plays down the wrong line and misses. He opts for the DRS but the ball is pitching in line, impact is in line and as far as striking the wickets is concerned, it's the umpire's call, which was out and stays that way. Sri Lanka in early trouble.
