With that final wicket going down on the first ball off the final over, Pakistan's abysmal tour of Australia has come to an end. Wonder what's going on in their mind? They would be relieved to be honest, this has been nothing less than a horror and when you have only one win to show from eight games, the tour seems longer than usual.

Pakistan were never in the contest today, ever since losing their fifth consecutive toss and then were subjected to some brutal batting from David Warner and Travis Head at the top of the order. Together they put up 284 runs, the highest partnership for any wicket and ensured that they batted Pakistan out of the contest. 369 at half-time and everyone knew the result, unless there was a miracle on the way.

Sharjeel Khan got his third fifty in a row while Babar Azam brought about an amazing sense of calmness to the crease. As long as they were together at the crease, Pakistan seemed to show some stomach for a fight but once Sharjeel departed, things started to crash for the tourists. Babar Azam hung around before getting to his hundred and was dismissed immediately after getting there. The pressure of chasing a mountainous total was quite evident as every batsman who came in, tried his hand at a shot or two, only to collapse further.

With this, Australia have reversed their fortunes, especially for how depleted they were post their series against South Africa. Now they go into the Chappell-Hadlee series with rejuvenated confidence and then of course, the big daddy tour of India would be on. For Pakistan, well.. they can probably just take some time off and reflect back on what's wrong. A few drastic changes might well be around the corner, you never know!

Hope you enjoyed our coverage as much as we did in bringing it to you. Until then, this is Shirshendu Roy signing off. Adios..

Cummins with the wicket now. Fires it in full and wide, only sliced to point, what a tame dismissal. Poor way to get out really. But the asking rate has rather become a demanding rate right now. Not much going Pakistan's way.

Hazlewood has two, Cummins has one, Starc has three, that makes it six out of the ten overs, all these three would make hitting very difficult, even if Umar Akmal is a superb striker of the ball.

Great cricket from the Australians Loving sport on

James Faulkner has been drafted into the eleven for this game and he replaces Usman Khawaja, certainly no like for like replacement. Does that mean Travis Head will open the innings along side Warner? Looks like.

Wahab Riaz had to be back, how can one forget his supreme spell up against Shane Watson in the 2015 World Cup quarterfinal at this very venue? Can he revive those wonderful memories again? By the way, he is in to replace Imad Wasim.

Australia: David Warner, Travis Head, Steve Smith (c), Peter Handscomb, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Wade (wk), James Faulkner, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Pakistan: Azhar Ali (c), Sharjeel Khan, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan, Hasan Ali

Tosses have also gone Australia's way thus far. Steve Smith has won his fifth toss in a row and chosen to bat first. Elevens in a bit..

Nothing could probably go as wrong as it did for Pakistan on this tour of Australia. Shoddy displays kept changing departments, ranging from batting to as latest as in the game with their fielding, Pakistan have mostly blown cold in the itinerary thus far. With the Adelaide ODI being the final clash, there's hardly anything that the captain would have to offer his teammates in the changing room. The shoulders have dropped, the morale battered yet they have to take the field for an inconsequential match, which could at best fetch them some consolation or dent the already dented.

Australia have found their mojo back. Warner is back to scoring in the limited-overs format, Steve Smith has got his bat to do the talking, Hazlewood and Co. have executed every plan to perfection, and their fielding seldom disappoints. With everything in order, the hosts would walk out today to finish the series on a high. From here, they head to New Zealand for the Chappell-Hadlee and then on the arduous tour of India.

But this being a dead rubber doesn't take the sheen away completely. I'm Shirshendu Roy and am up early in a hope to watch some exhilarating cricket. It would be great if you could join me in some engaging chat here on the LIVE blog space. For that, tweet in and I'll pick the best ones and feature them here. See you!
