He finished his career as his country's fifth most capped player, fourth-highest run-getter and with third most number of hundreds in One-Day International (ODI) cricket. Yet compared to his more illustrious and flamboyant teammates, he has forever remained in the background. Along with scoring these truckload of runs, he took over a 100 wickets, took catches in the infield as well as near the boundaries and kept wickets when asked to do so. Tillakaratne Mudiyanselage Dilshan, Sri Lankan cricket's loyal servant has bid farewell to the game, leaving behind big shoes to fill for whoever replaces him.
