It was the Quinton de Kock show on day 2 as the young wicket-keeper batsman smashed his first Test ton in exquisite fashion batting with the tail. It enabled South Africa to post 475 in their first innings. Kagiso Rabada got rid of Alex Hales and Nick Compton but skipper Alastair Cook is standing tall. He is just 50 short of reaching 10,000 Test runs. Can he get it or will South Africa manage to secure a massive lead?

After a subdued start to the day, Joe Root takes 15 runs from a Rabada over to bring up his half-century. The partnership is inching towards 100. Not good signs for South Africa who are looking for a sizeable first-innings lead.

Morne Morkel strikes for South Africa and it's the big one! Skipper Alastair Cook nicks the away going delivery to the keeper and the Proteas will be really relieved with that wicket. Cook will have to wait for another day to get his 10,000th Test run as James Taylor strides in.

Kagiso Rabada you beauty! Gets the ball to shape away a touch to find the outside edge of Joe Root who was well set at 76. This is trouble for England as they have lost the overnight batsmen. Ben Stokes has come out to the middle. Will be interesting to see if he counter-attacks.

Rabada struck again twice on the stroke of lunch to remove James Taylor and Jonny Bairstow in the same over. He leads the team back to the pavilion and rightfully so. The 20-year-old has already picked up five wickets in this innings. England are reeling. Expect some fireworks from Stokes and Moeen in the post-lunch session.
