It's Match 11 of the Big Bash and it's a top of the table clash. Sydney Thunder are hosting the Adelaide Strikers in what should be a mouthwatering encounter. Both teams haven't lost as yet in this season. Can the Thunder continue on their merry ways or will Hodge & Co. find a way to stop them.

Strikers have won the toss and will bat first. The Showground pitch should do a bit early in the game.

Teams:

Adelaide Strikers (Playing XI): Tim Ludeman(w), Craig Simmons, Mahela Jayawardene, Travis Head, Brad Hodge(c), Alex Ross, Michael Neser, Adil Rashid, Kane Richardson, Ben Laughlin, Billy Stanlake

Sydney Thunder (Playing XI): Jacques Kallis, Aiden Blizzard, Michael Hussey(c), Shane Watson, Ben Rohrer, Andre Russell, Chris Hartley(w), Chris Green, Clint McKay, Gurinder Sandhu, Fawad Ahmed

Not the start Adelaide were hoping for after electing to bat. First ball... Andre Russell gets one full and shaping away from Ludeman, who goes hard at it and edges it behind. Big blow.

Gurinder Sandu struck in the very next over with a back-of-a-length delivery that kicked up on Craig Simmons, who could only fend awkwardly to the gully fielder. 2 down for 3 runs on the board!

Michael Hussey has been clever with his bowling changes thus far. He got an over each of Russell, Sandhu and Mckay before going back to Sandhu, who after conceding a six, was taken straight off. The pressure has been relentless. Mahela Jayawardene has found the going tough and Hussey is happy bowling his medium-pacers to him.

Another one goes down for the Strikers. Travis Head cuts Kallis through point for a four, looks to repeat the shot to an off-cutter a couple of deliveries later and can only a feather an edge to the keeper. Up to Jayawardene and Brad Hodge to rescue the Strikers now.

Leggie Fawad Ahmed comes in to the attack straight after the powerplay. Strikers 22 for 3.

This is not an easy wicket to bat on but in Jayawardene and Hodge, the Strikers had dollops of experience to fight through the poor start. Having added 22 runs, including 13 off the eighth over bowled by Andre Russell, the duo looked to be building a platform for the middle-order to launch from when some poor running between the wicket cost Jayawardene his wicket.

The former Sri Lankan captain, who'd made 21 off 31, called for a non-existent single run and was caught miles short of his crease. Big wicket.

Soft dismissal for Ross, the Strikers find themselves in huge trouble. A half-volley outside off, Ross was looking to drive, plays at it a tad too early and scoops it straight to Hussey at extra cover. Hodge looks despondent at the other end.

Ben Rohrer effected the second run out in three overs with Michael Neser becoming the latest Strikers batsman to fall. Nesser nudged one to the onside and set off immediately. However, he stopped as he saw Rohrer making a diving stop. An accurate throw to the keeper and Neser is gone!

Adil Rashid has come out swinging. He's slapped one past Kallis and a couple of pull shots have evaded fielders behind the stumps. Brad Hodge has just smoked a six off Gurinder Sandhu. These two have added 32 off the last four overs. Much needed. A 120 here can make things very interesting.

63 dot balls in the innings mean Adelaide Strikers can muster only 117 after electing to bat. The Thunder kept striking at regular intervals to put the visitors under pressure. Jayawardene said in the middle that 120 could be a challenge on this wicket and they've nearly got there. Thanks to a 37-run stand between Brad Hodge and Adil Rashid. Laughlin and Richardson helped themselves to sixes in the final over to get Strikers close to that 120 mark. Can they restrict this powerful Thunder line-up? We'll wait and see...

Aiden Blizzard and Jacques Kallis have got the Thunder off to a steady start. Nothing fancy, just making sure the strike is turned over. Adelaide, in their bid to bowl that magic ball, have lacked discipline thus far and have already conceded 17 from the first two overs. Just the 100 more to get now!

This is getting one-sided. Thunder have eased their way to 41 for none in the powerplay. Zero risk cricket. Hodge has rotated his pacers. Richardson, Travis Head, Ben Laughlin seem to be attempting a short-ball strategy but have lacked the accuracy to cause any real problems for Kallis and Blizzard. The Thunder openers aren't in any hurry and comfortable nudging the ball around.

It is spin that gives the Strikers the first wicket. Rashid bowls a tidy over prompting Brad Hodge into bringing Simmons in from the other end. The left-armer tossed up a delivery invitingly outside off, Blizzard backs away and slams it straight to Hodge at cover. 52 to win in the final 10. Nine wickets hand. Thunder very much the favourites here.
