Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay gave India a wonderful start on the first day amidst rain. The entire second day's play was washed out but the good news is that play will start on time on day 3. India will be looking to post a massive total before putting Bangladesh in. With more than a day and a half washed out, a result looks unlikely even if we get play throughout the next few days. With more rain predicted, the game is set to be interrupted again. Both teams will be looking to take something positive out of the sessions remaining.
Live Cricket Score of India vs Bangladesh, Only Test, Day 3 at Fatullah

Murali Vijay was made to wait a whole day to move from 89 not-out on Day 1 to his 6th Test hundred. But, the opener, once again, displayed patience that has come to define him and got to his hundred early on Day 3. The right-hander hit the straps early into the day, and hit two boundaries, including the one the got to his century, to give the hosts a taste of what is to follow.
After a massive 283-run opening stand, Bangladesh finally had something to smile about. Dhawan was dragged down the crease by Shakib and forced him to get a leading edge. End of a fine innings from Dhawan. 173 is a score that will not be forgotten easily even if it came against Bangladesh on a flat track.
Rohit Sharma was looking to be positive from the outset but paid the price. Shakib was bowling well after getting Dhawan and was extracting some turn. Rohit should have paid heed to one delivery that had him in trouble in the same over. He was caught on the backfoot then and got a thickish outside edge as the ball spun sharply. The second time around, Rohit went for a rather expansive inside out drive but missed the ball completely. The crowd lets out a huge roar as the off stump is pegged back.
Finally there is traffic coming from the other side. Bangladesh's spinners are getting into the game. Shakib Al Hasan provided the direction with a couple of wickets and suddenly the others have been inspired. Jubair Hossain, the leg-spinner, has found some turn and got the ball to spin past Kohli's bat a couple of times. He's been inconsistent though. A full toss or a half-tracker frequently allows the batsman to capitalise. Small steps but when the bowlers get into the game, it makes for much better viewing.
Jubair Hossain has a moment that he will never forget. Virat Kohli did not pick a googly early in his innings and he did not pick it again. He was looking for the boundaries though. India have tried to assert their dominance but are being a little too casual about it. Give the opposition some respect has been the age old adage. Kohli looked to drive the googly against the spin but got an inside edge that rolled onto the stumps.
You might have though that India would look to consolidate a bit at some point. Rohit, Kohli and Dhawan all got out looking to play attacking shots. With a calmer Rahane coming in, it would not have been a bad idea to defend the ball for a bit but even Rahane is looking to drive and find the boundaries. He's playing it with more discipline though. Vijay is being the pillar holding the innings up at the other end. India are looking for quick runs and are not afraid to lose a few wickets in the process. That's the approach Kohli has been harping about in press conferences about the attitude needed. India can afford to do it now with more than 300 on the board and with batting still to come. Can they force a result now? The pitch is finally assisting the spinners.
Let's try an second guess what India's approach will be. Will they be happy to be bowled out for 450? With Rahane looking to play his shots, that might well be the approach from the rest as well. Will Kohli actually think of declaring when they get close to 450 with so much time lost in this game? Or will they just look to bat once and bat really big?
400 odd and India will declare says Sriram and thinks that is because of Kohli's attacking mindset. They will declare at Tea no matter what says Akshay and Vishaal feels that 450 will be their target.
