It's a cloudy morning in Cape Town, should be good for the pace bowlers. The sun is attempting to break though, that should comfort the visiting batsmen. The second new ball is just 10 overs old. The players are out in the middle. We are set for the start of Day 2Simon Harmer was impressive on debut, finishing with excellent figures of 3/67. Steyn took two wickets and went past Makhaya Ntini's tally of 390 Test wickets. It was a decent day's work-out on a pretty placid pitch. It's day 2 of the third and final Test between South Africa and West Indies. After a forgettable first Test, the visitors have improved as the tour progressed. In good batting conditions in Cape Town, the visitors finished the day at 276/6. Leon Johnson and Denesh Ramdin made fifties but failed to convert their knocks into big hundreds. Jermaine Blackwood has looked in good touch and it is up to him to take the visitors to a fighting score.

South Africa needed less than 10 overs to wipe out the West Indies lower-order as the visitors were bowled out for 329. Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel stepped up their performance on the 2nd day, bowling with vigour and lots of pace to trouble the batsmen. Jermaine Blackwood and Jason Holder were outfoxed by Dale Steyn, while Morne Morkel applied the finishing touches with the wickets of Jerome Taylor and Suleimann Benn.

Dean Elgar and Alviro Petersen were involved in a solid opening stand before Holder struck off the last ball before lunch to dismiss the former. RSA had raced their way to 48 in the 12th over before Holder, from around the wicket, got a ball to nip back in sharply and trap the left-handed Elgar plumb in front.
