Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi were forced to share points after their PSL 2026 clash was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to a wet outfield at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday.
Persistent rain around the scheduled toss time meant proceedings never got underway, and although the showers relented around 7:30 pm local time, significant puddles left the groundstaff in a race against time. Despite their efforts, conditions could not be made fit before the cut-off for even a five-over contest.
The washout meant Islamabad opened their account and moved to sixth on the table, while Peshawar climbed to second with three points, just behind Karachi Kings, who lead the standings with four.
The fixture had carried added intrigue, with both sides coming in level on 13 wins apiece, but the contest ultimately fell victim to the weather.
