Bangladesh Cricket Board is likely to introduce a four-member national selection panel as they prepare to re-organize the committee.

Earlier, BCB used to appoint the members of national selection based on the observation of the board high-ups. However, now the body has decided to take interviews of interested candidates before naming the new selection panel.

Cricbuzz understands quite a few candidates impressed the interview panel that included BCB vice-president Faruque Ahmed along with BCB cricket operation chairman Nazmul Abedin and former national skipper and current board director Khaled Mashud among others.

While previously the selection panel had three members, this time round it could also have a selection panel head, making it a total of four-member team.

"There is no hard and fast rule that the selection panel will have to be a three-member committee," BCB cricket operation chairman Nazmul Abedin told Cricbuzz on Friday. "We will form the selection panel as per our requirements."

A BCB director, who was part of the panel that interviewed the candidates for the selection panel, confirmed to Cricbuzz that they will propose for a four-member panel.

Cricbuzz has also learnt that former national selector Habibul Bashar will head the selection panel while former national batter Naeem Islam and Nadif Chowdhurty will join him. Hasibul Hossain, who is left alone in the selection panel after Gazi Ashraf Hossain quitted as chief selector recently, is the other member of the panel.
