Gujarat Titans have appointed former India wicketkeeper-batter Vijay Dahiya as an assistant coach ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026 season, the franchise announced on Wednesday (March 11).
Dahiya, who played two Tests and 19 ODIs for India national cricket team, brings considerable coaching experience to the setup. A former Delhi player, he was part of the coaching staff that guided the Delhi team to the Ranji Trophy title in the 2007-08 season. In the IPL, he served as an assitant coach at the Kolkata Knight Riders and played a role in their first two championship wins, in 2012 and 2014.
In 2019, Dahiya was appointed as the head talent scout of the Delhi Capitals. Subsequently, he moved to the Lucknow Super Giants as assistant coach. His appointment by the Titans comes shortly after the 2022 champions roped in former Australia opener Matthew Hayden as batting coach.
Since joining the IPL in 2022, Gujarat Titans have established themselves as one of the more consistent sides in the tournament. They won the title in their debut season and have reached the playoffs in three of their first four campaigns.
