Fifties by Brian Bennett (56) and Tashinga Musekiwa (54*) went in vain for Zimbabwe as Oman chased down 188 with four balls to spare in Colombo. Brendan Taylor (26) and Dion Myers (26) chipped in with valuable contributions as it looked like Zimbabwe had amassed a massive total. Sufyan Mehmood (3 for 22) and Nadeem Khan (2 for 26) were the pick of the bowlers for Oman, and triggered a mini-collapse from 86 for 1 to 94 for 4.
Oman came out firing in pursuit of 188. Aamir Kaleem hit 23 off 11 balls while Jatinder Singh (55) and Hammad Mirza (35) laid the platform for the chase. Jiten Ramanandi hit a crucial 18-ball 34 towards the death as Oman clinched the chase in the final over. Blessing Muzarabani picked up two wickets for the African nation but he conceded 41 runs in his four overs.
Brief Scores: Zimbabwe 187/7 in 20 overs (Brian Bennett 56, Tashinga Musekiwa 54*; Sufyan Mehmood 3-22, Nadeem Khan 2-26) lost to Oman 188/6 in 19.2 overs (Jatinder Singh 55, Hammad Mirza 34; Blessing Muzarabani 2-41, Ryan Burl 1-20) by four wickets.
Aasif Sheikh (58) and Sandeep Jora (44) guided Nepal to victory as they chased down a target of 162 against Canada with two overs to spare at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Gulsan Jha too chipped in with 31 as Nepal wrapped up their warm-ups with two wins. Sandeep Lamichhhane (2 for 14) and Kushal Bhurtel (2 for 26) picked up a brace of wickets in the first innings.
Canada, on the other hand, have now lost both their warm-up games but managed to show a decent account of themselves. Navneet Dhaliwal scored a close to run-a-ball 41 but 'keeper Shreyas Movva's 38* off 19 and Jaskaran Singh's 21 off 11 boosted them to 161 for 6 in the 20 overs. But, on the bowling front, they would look to improve. Dilon Heyliger, in particular, was very expensive leaking 43 runs in just two overs.
Brief Scores: Canada 161/6 in 20 overs (Navneet Dhaliwal 41, Shreyas Movva 38; Sandeep Lamichhane 2-14, Kushal Bhurtel 2-26) lost to Nepal 162/4 in 18 overs (Aasif Sheikh 58, Sandeep Jora 44; Ajayveer Hundal 1-14, Saad Bin Zafar 1-20) by six wickets.
